Components
- 30 Fleur (flower) cards, each with a value of 3 points.
- 30 Escargot (snail) cards, made up of:
- 15 cards of value -1
- 5 cards of value -2
- 4 cards of value -4
- 3 cards of value -6
- 2 cards of value -8
- 1 card of value -10
Goal of the Game
Be the player who has the most beautiful flower bed of flowers by accumulating the greatest number of points at the end of the game.
Setup
- Each player receives one Fleur card, which they place in front of them, thereby planting the first young shoot of their flower bed.
- The remaining cards are shuffled and placed face down as a draw pile.
- The first player is the player who was the last to put their hands in the soil to plant a flower, a tree or a vegetable.
- The first player then becomes the active player and takes the first 4 cards from the draw pile. They decide either:
- a) to keep them, or
- b) to discard them.
- If they keep the cards (a), they discard the next 4 cards from the top of the draw pile without looking at them and put them back in the game box.
- If they discard the cards (b), they draw 4 new cards. They then put the 4 discarded cards back on the draw pile and reshuffle the cards. Next, they draw the following 4 cards and place them face down in the box.
- The active player may then begin the game.
Note: the printed rules read "pioche l 4 cartes suivantes" here, which is evidently a typo for "pioche 4 cartes suivantes" and is transcribed as the latter.
Playing the Game
On their turn, the active player chooses one of their 4 cards and places it in front of them, in their flower bed. They declare to the other players that this card is the card with the lowest value in their hand. This may be true or false, depending on whether the active player decides to bluff or not!
Note: the Escargot -8 card has a lower value than the Escargot -2 card or the Fleur +3 card, for example.
The active player then passes the remaining 3 cards, face down, to the player on their left.
That player now has the following options:
Printed text: "Ce dernier a maintenant 2 options" ("The latter now has 2 options").
a) Believe the active player. In this case, they secretly take the 3 cards into their hand and draw a 4th card to complete their hand.
The printed rules give only option a). No option b) is printed on the sheet, and none is supplied here.
End of the Game
The game ends when the active player is unable to complete their hand to 4 cards. That player then shows the cards in their hand to the other players and places in their flower bed the card with the lowest value. The remaining cards are discarded and the players total their points.
Winner
The winner is the player who has scored the most points by adding up all the cards placed in their flower bed. In the event of a tie, the player with the most Fleur cards is declared the winner.
