What happens when all crew or the ship are defeated?

In normal mode you are not out of the game: move to the nearest port, remove all damage and fatigue from the crew (or ship), discard 6 event cards from the top of the event deck, mark a defeat box and start a new turn. Command and status tokens stay on crew. A defeat in a story encounter is treated the same way. In brutal mode defeat ends the campaign. You are defeated when all crew are at 0 health or the ship has 11 damage.
