No. A crew ability applies only to the moment, challenge or attack it was used for, and its command stays on the crew board. Until every command token is removed from that board you cannot use another ability there. Stacking extra command on one ability for extra uses does not work. Ability cards differ: their command returns to supply, so they can be reused while you have command. Equipped cards are not locked by tokens on the board.
