There is no fleeing; combat ends when the enemies are defeated or your crew is knocked out, unless the story offers an alternative. If you lose and fight again, the battle is set up from scratch with every enemy at full health. A fight whose last crew member drops to 0 on the same round the last enemy is defeated is still a win.
