Setup
- Shuffle the eight-card ancient relics deck and place it face down near the Skulk Hollow map.
- Place the six ancient relic tokens near the Skulk Hollow map.
- Give each player their relic cache card.
Relic Cache Cards
There are two relic cache cards. During setup, each player is given their relic cache card.
Guardian's Relic Cache (1): On your turn, you may spend one ancient relic token to take an additional action on your turn.
Hero's Relic Cache (2): On your turn, you may spend two ancient relic tokens to take an additional action on your turn.
Earlier print variant: the cache cards in the earlier printing (in which the card's text was printed as "take a free action" rather than "take an additional action") read "On your turn, you may spend one ancient relic token to take a free action." and "On your turn, you may spend two ancient relic tokens to take a free action." The 2023 printing is the wording transcribed above, and it matches the Skulk Hollow base rulebook, which describes spending an ancient relic token to take an additional action during your turn.
Ancient Relics Deck
The ancient relics deck has eight cards. Each card is a map tile showing a location from the Skulk Hollow landscape, with the location's name printed on a banner at the bottom. The tiles are artwork only and carry no rules text. The tiles photographed for this transcription are:
- Clearing
- Farm
- Town Well
- Town Mill
- Mine
- Forest Shrine
- Forest Swamp
The eighth tile is partly hidden behind other cards in the photographs, so its name is not transcribed here. It likewise has no rules text.
Card Notes
- The relic cache cards are the only cards in this mini-expansion that carry rules text. Their effects are an additional action on your turn, paid for with ancient relic tokens: one token for the Guardian's Relic Cache and two for the Hero's Relic Cache.
- The ancient relic tokens are the six tokens placed near the map during setup. Their general use is explained in the Skulk Hollow base rulebook.
