Goal

In this game, you work together to build a ski track for the Kiwi. You play together to ensure that the Kiwi becomes the best skier. The player who most recently went skiing gets to start.

End of the Game

The game ends when the Weather card deck has been played through twice. Flip over the two Skiwi cards, then update the final score by adding or subtracting their respective points. What kind of skier are you?

Game Components

  • 19 Skiwi Cards (A)
  • 23 Points Cards (B)
  • 9 Weather Cards (C)
  • 1 Weather Reference (D)

Setup

  • Skiwi Cards (A): Shuffle the Skiwi card deck. Deal one card to each player and place it face-up in front of them. Place the remaining Skiwi cards in a face-down stack at the side of the table.
  • Starting Card: Place one Skiwi card face-up in the center of the playing area.
  • Weather Cards (C): Shuffle the Weather cards and place them face-down at the side of the playing area.
  • Points Cards (B): Create two stacks:
    • Left Stack: Arrange the points cards in ascending order: 0 to 18, face up, 0 on top.
    • Right Stack: Arrange the minus points cards face down in order, with -1 on top and -4 at the bottom.

Gameplay

Each player takes turns performing the following steps in the specified order:

Step 1: Determine the Correct Position

At the start of your turn, place your Skiwi card in the desired position to connect it to a card in the play area. Once the position is set, it cannot be changed.

Step 2: Execute the Weather Card

Draw a Weather card and place it face-up beside the Weather card deck. Perform the action on your Skiwi card. After this action, the Skiwi card cannot be rotated further. You may not look at the discarded Weather cards.

Step 3: Place the Skiwi Card

Place your Skiwi card next to another card in the playing area. This is mandatory, even if it doesn't fit perfectly.

Step 4: Scoring

Check the adjacent sides of the placed Skiwi card: Update the score on the Points cards.

Step 5: Draw a Card

At the end of your turn, draw one card from the Skiwi card deck. The next player then takes their turn.

The Weather Cards

  • 0 - Sun: Leave the card as it is, then place it in the playing area.
  • 1 - Rain: Rotate the card once clockwise and place it in the playing area.
  • 2 - Snow: Rotate the card twice in a direction of your choice and place it in the playing area.
  • Wind: Rotate the card once counter clockwise and place it in the playing area.
  • Lightning: Flip the card upside down in its current position. Place the card next to any other card in the playing area. At the end of the game, this card is flipped back over to determine points or penalties. Note: Cards may be placed next to a lightning card and can still earn points or penalties.

Placement Rules

  • Skiwi cards may be placed horizontally or vertically.
  • A card must align with at least one side of another card.
  • Cards may connect to multiple cards at the same time.
  • Cards cannot overlap.
