Components

  • 6 Workspace tiles + 1 Bathroom tile
  • 1 Office plan card, with the Employee of the Month on the back
  • 36 Task cards (of 3 types). Among the work cards there are: Send emails (Green), cards with instructions from the Boss (Agapito) marked with an icon in the upper right corner of the card, Prepare report (Pink), and Give a presentation (Orange).
  • 12 Webeo cards (of 3 types). The webeo cards have a WN icon in the upper right corner of the card: Send emails with viruses (Green), Prepare report in bad shape (Pink) and Give a low-quality presentation (Orange).
  • 9 Worker cards. Includes the personal objective for the mini-expansion Civil Service Career (see Mini-Expansion).
  • 8 Worker meeples
  • 39 Task tokens (13 of each type)
  • 8 Task completed/not completed tokens

Objective

In the office where Siempre de WN takes place, the players are workers with the company shirt on for their great Boss Agapito, or also undercover WNs who care little about their work.

The workers win if they manage to complete 4 tasks successfully, while the WNs win if they ruin 4 of the assigned tasks. In addition, the workers can win if they fire all the WNs. For their part, the WNs can also win if two players remain unfired and one of them is a WN.

Setup

A. Look at the Office plan card and, according to the number of players, build a board with the workspace tiles (place the bathroom in the centre); this will be THE OFFICE. Then add the indicated number of task tokens on each workspace. No tasks are placed in the bathroom.

Office plan card:

PlayersWNsScenarioInitial tasksTask refill
3–41 WN4 Workspaces, 1 Bathroom33
5–62 WN5 Workspaces, 1 Bathroom34
7–83 WN6 Workspaces, 1 Bathroom45

B. Each player chooses a meeple and puts it on the bathroom tile.

C. Build the deck of character cards at random according to the number of players in the game, then each player draws a worker card and looks in secret at the card received. (Remember not to show the card to anyone.) You must identify whether you are a Worker or one of the WNs (WN Pillo, WN Volao, WN WN).

D. Take the 12 webeo cards, shuffle them and place them at one side of the central board (the office). Then take and shuffle the task cards and place them on top of the webeo cards. This will be the draw deck. Leave a space beside it for a discard pile.

E. The first player will be the last one to arrive late to work. Starting with the first player and continuing to their left, each player takes the entire draw deck and, under the table, IN SECRET (without anyone else seeing), takes 3 cards that may be task cards (from the top of the deck) and/or webeo cards (from the bottom of the deck). Players who have a WN card must take at least one webeo card.

How to Play

The primary rule of Siempre de WN is that players may say whatever they want at all times. Arguing, lying, accusing, interacting with other players or simply playing the WN is one of the central elements for working in any office and for winning the game.

The game is played in consecutive turns, starting with the turn of the starting player and continuing with the player to their left. On your turn, you must always move your worker to an adjacent tile, and then do one of these actions:

A. Add a Task Card

Announce and place a task (or webeo) card face down at the side of the office where your worker meeple is.

Remember: when playing a card you may lie about the type of task you announced.

Example: Juan announces an Orange presentation task, when he has secretly placed a green webeo card face down.

B. Play a Boss Card

Among the task cards, some have the Boss icon. You may add them as a task or play them face up; in the latter case choose one of these two options:

  1. Dedocracia: On the count of three everyone points at a player. The one with the most votes is fired and must reveal their worker card. In case of a tie nobody is fired.
  2. Auditoría: Point at a player and look at their task cards in hand. You may use this information however you like (lie or tell the truth about its content, or play the WN). Remember, the character card remains hidden from the rest of the players.

After being used, the boss card is put on the discard pile.

C. Get Cards from the Draw Deck

Move your worker meeple to the bathroom, take the entire draw deck together with the task/webeo cards you keep and, under the table, take up to 3 cards in whatever combination you want, among task or webeo cards. If you are a WN you must take at least one webeo card.

Remember: Siempre de WN! (Always a WN!)

Attention: you can only get cards by moving your meeple to the bathroom.

Tasks

To complete the work assigned in one of the workspaces, players must add in secret as many task (or webeo) cards as indicated by the task tokens placed on the workspace.

In the illustrated example, the Workspace has 3 tokens: one green task and two orange.

The player who places the last task card shuffles the cards and reveals them one by one on the table:

A. If the revealed task cards match what is indicated by the task tokens on the workspace, the task is achieved. Discard the cards and the task tokens of the workspace. The player places 1 completed task token at the side of the workspace and, finally, places new task tokens at random on the workspace, as indicated by the office plan card.

Example: The task cards revealed by Juan are Orange, Green and Orange, matching the task tokens.

Check whether the workers have won by completing 4 tasks; if not, the workers are closer to victory!

B. If among the revealed task cards at least one does not match the task tokens on the workspace, the office task has been ruined. Discard the cards and the task tokens of the workspace. The player places 1 not-completed task token at the side of the workspace and, finally, places new task tokens at random on the workspace, as indicated by the office plan card.

Example: The task cards revealed by Juan are Orange, Green and Green, NOT matching the task tokens.

Check whether the WNs have won by ruining 4 tasks; if not, they must begin a debate to determine who made the mistake; as a result it is possible to fire a player, who after the vote ends will reveal their worker card.

C. If among the revealed task cards there is at least one webeo card, regardless of the colour of the cards, the task has been ruined. Discard the cards and the task tokens of the workspace. The player places 1 not-completed task token at the side of the workspace and, finally, places new task tokens at random on the workspace, as indicated by the office plan card.

Example: The task cards revealed by Juan are Orange, Green and an Orange webeo, ruining the task.

Check whether the WNs have won by ruining 4 tasks; if not, they must begin a debate to determine who made the mistake; as a result it is possible to fire a player, who after the vote ends will reveal their worker card.

The Debates

Starting with the player seated to the left of whoever began the debate (revealed the ruined task cards), and continuing in this direction, each person presents their views on why a person should be fired and points at them during the debate. While the rest argue, people may change their vote as new arguments or signs of guilt appear.

When the last person to speak, who began the debate, counts to three, everyone points at a player, ending the debate. The one with the most votes is fired and will reveal their worker card. In case of a tie, nobody is fired.

Example: Roberto is pointed at by Juan, Alejandro, Miguel and Nicole, while Miguel is pointed at only by Roberto. Consequently, Roberto is fired and must reveal his worker card. Oh, what a disappointment, he was a good worker; Horacio has been fired.

End of the Game

The game has different endings for the players depending on whether they are workers or WNs:

  • If the workers get 4 completed task tokens before the draw deck runs out, the workers win.
  • If the workers have fired all the WNs, the workers win.
  • If the workers get 4 not-completed task tokens, the WNs win.
  • If only 2 players remain and one of them is a WN, the WNs win.

NOTE: If the draw deck runs out, a last debate begins and then the game ends.

Mini-Expansion: Civil Service Career and Personal Objectives

The company is the ideal place to let yourself go in pursuit of your most hidden desires.

Setup

In addition to what is stated above: in this game mode the personal objectives of each character are used, and those who manage to fulfil them are rewarded.

How to Play

Same as described above, adding:

  • Each time someone starts a debate to fire a worker, if as a result a WN is fired, they obtain a prestige point. Take a task token from the reserve and place it in front of you on its prestige point face.
  • Each time someone completes a task they receive 1 completed or not-completed task marker, as appropriate (they are not placed at the side of the Workspace).
  • If at any moment during or at the end of the game you fulfil the personal objectives on your worker card, you announce it and take the corresponding prestige points.

End of a Game

It ends under the conditions already described, adding:

  • Prestige points and completed task tokens grant 1 prestige point equally.
  • Each not-completed task token subtracts 1 prestige point.
  • Give the Employee of the Month card to whoever has the most completed task tokens; this card grants 1 prestige point. In case of a tie there is no Employee of the Month.
  • The player with the most prestige points is the winner; in case of a tie, whoever has the most completed task tokens wins; if the tie remains, whoever has the fewest not-completed tasks wins. Otherwise, whoever has a WN card wins.

Token key: Task NOT completed (-1 point); Task completed (+1 point); Prestige point (+1 point).

Special Version: 3 Players

You are in charge of a work team; you may have great workers or, on the contrary, have WNs on your team. It doesn't matter, you are a great leader, and they will do whatever they can to achieve their objectives to obtain the greatest number of Prestige Points (PP).

Setup

We will play with all the characters considering their personal objectives. To the normal setup add:

A. Shuffle all the worker cards and deal 3 to each player, who will look at their own cards in secret (if a player receives all 3 WN cards, this step must be repeated). Then they will place them, one next to the other, face down in front of them.

B. Each player takes the draw deck and, under the table, IN SECRET, takes 3 work and/or webeo cards.

How to Play

To the common mode of play the following is added:

  • At the start of the game 1 meeple must be placed on one of the worker cards; it is considered your active worker, and you will act according to the interests of your team.
  • Each time you use the bathroom you must move the active worker marker one card to the right. If the marker is on the last card, it returns to the first.
  • Each time a debate begins or a player is pointed at by dedocracia to fire a worker, the most-pointed-at must reveal and discard their active worker.

Different Endings

  • If the workers manage to gather 4 completed task tokens before the task deck runs out, or have fired 3 "weones" (WNs), the workers in play win 1 prestige token.
  • If the WNs manage to gather 4 not-completed task tokens, or 4 have been fired among workers or "weones", all the WN cards in play win 1 prestige token.

In both cases, players obtain prestige points for the personal objectives of their workers throughout the game and 1 extra for their unfired workers.

  • Prestige points and completed task tokens are worth 1 prestige point equally.
  • Each not-completed task token subtracts 1 prestige point.
  • Give the Employee of the Month card to whoever has the most completed task tokens; this card grants 1 PP. In case of a tie there is no Employee of the Month.

The player with the most prestige points is the winner; in case of a tie, whoever has the most completed task tokens wins; if the tie remains, whoever has the fewest not-completed tasks wins. Otherwise, whoever has the most fired workers wins; if the tie continues, whoever has the most WNs among their workers.

Personal Objectives

  • WN Volao: If you are discovered before other WNs. Show your role and take 1 task token.
  • WN WN: 1 PP if during the game you obtain 2 completed task tokens. At the end of the game take 1 task token.
  • WN Pillo: 1 PP if you are not discovered as a WN. At the end of the game take 1 task token.
  • Goriela: 1 PP if you finish 2 negative tasks. At the end of the game take 1 task token.
  • José Cornelio: 1 PP if you are pointed at during a WN debate and are not fired; reveal the card as soon as the objective is achieved and take a task token.
  • Horacio: 2 PP if 3 not-completed tasks have been obtained, and the workers win. At the end of the game take 2 task tokens.
  • Laura: 1 PP if within a debate you accuse a WN and achieve their firing; reveal the card as soon as the objective is achieved and take a task token.
  • Jirafina: 2 PP if at the end of the game there is at most 1 negative task. At the end of the game take 2 task tokens.
  • Mariano: 1 PP if I manage to finish 2 completed tasks. At the end of the game take 1 PP token.
