Components

  • 107 Question cards (cartas de Perguntas)
  • 4 Result cards (cartas de Resultado)
  • 1 Winner card (carta de Ganhador): "MY FRIENDS ONLY MAKE SHITTY CHOICES" (MEUS AMIGOS SÓ TOMAM DECISÕES DE MERDA)
  • 1 Rulebook

Setup

Separate the 4 Result cards and the Winner card. Shuffle the remaining cards to form a deck. Place this deck face down in the middle of the table.

The first player is the one who makes the worst decisions in their life. Everyone knows who it is, but if you don't have the courage to say it, choose the person who bought this game, the one with the most children, the one who believes in pyramid schemes, or anything else you all agree on.

How to Play

Play goes in turns, and all players take part at the same time. Starting with the Starting Player and continuing clockwise, each turn is played as follows:

  • The active player draws a card and reads it aloud.
  • All players (including the one who read the card) wait a few seconds (only a few!) to think about the option they will choose.
  • The player who read the question secretly chooses one of the 4 Result cards and places it face down in front of them.
  • Count down: 3, 2, 1... and at 0 everyone shows their answer with their fingers: one finger for the 1st option, two fingers for the 2nd option.
  • Arguments, discussions and "what do you mean?!", "you're seriously saying you'd prefer that, right?" and similar comments begin.
  • The player who read the question reveals the Result card they chose earlier. If they got it right, they keep the Question card, which counts as one point.
  • Once the controversy and tension are over, the next player draws a card from the deck and the mechanic is repeated.

Illustrated steps (from the manual's diagram):

  1. Read the QUESTION CARD.
  2. Choose one of the four RESULT CARDS and place it face down in front of you.
  3. Everyone votes with their fingers: 1 or 2. The majority votes 1.
  4. Reveal the chosen Result card. If you guessed correctly, the player keeps the QUESTION CARD, which counts as 1 point.

Important

It's yes or yes. You always have to choose one of the options. Now and then both options will be so bad that you won't know which to pick. Choose one anyway, even if it's by luck, while thinking: "good thing this is just a game and I don't have to choose one of these shitty things in real life."

End of Game

The game ends when one or more of these situations happen at the same time:

  • Someone reaches 3 points. That person wins immediately and receives the Winner card, My Friends Only Make Shitty Choices.
  • You get tired of your friends' shitty choices.
  • You realise it's best to leave these people with their choices and go look for new friends.
  • You decide to stop and send us an email telling us to go fuck ourselves with this shitty game.

Variants

"OK, BURÓ, ENOUGH WITH THIS POINTS NONSENSE": Play as normal, but we don't try to guess the players' votes and we don't count points. We read the questions, answer them, and take the piss out of each other.

ALCOHOLIC – "FOLLOW THE CROWD" MODE (MODO MARIA-VAI-COM-AS-OUTRAS): Play as normal, but instead of voting and collecting points, you have to drink. At the end of each vote, everyone who voted for the most-voted option must drink as many sips as the number of votes for that option. Are you a "follow-the-crowd" person, with no personality, who votes for whatever everyone else votes for? Well, here you get the fucking treatment you deserve, you shithead.

ALCOHOLIC – "DON'T BE THE ODD ONE OUT" MODE (MODO NÃO SEJA O DIFERENTÃO): Play as in the "Follow the Crowd" mode, but this time the person who drinks is the one who voted for the least-voted option. However, they must drink as many sips as the number of votes for the most-voted option. Were you told your whole life how unique and special you are? You're fooling nobody, look at yourself, baby. Stop playing the speeeecial one.

AND IF THERE IS A TIE IN THE ALCOHOLIC VARIANT? Do we have to explain everything to you people? Well, if there's a tie, drink... 2 sips each? Yes. 2 sips each. Done. If it's in the manual, it's a rule.

WARNING: If you are going to play any of the alcoholic variants, or play however you like but with alcohol, don't even think about driving, ok? We are not encouraging you to become an alcoholic; that is something you and your shitty friends decide whenever you want. We guarantee the game works with and without alcohol. Be careful.
