Goal of the Game

Shiba Inu House is a racing game of pattern recognition and pattern building where players rush to arrange their Shiba Inu Cards to build their Dog Houses. After 8 rounds, the player with the highest score wins the game.

Game Preparation

  1. Each player takes one set of 9 Shiba Inu Cards of the same symbol.
  2. Depending on the number of players, certain number of Dog House Cards will be removed from the game:
    • In 2-player games, randomly remove 6 cards from Level 1 and 9 cards each from Levels 2 and 3.
    • In 3-player games, randomly remove 4 cards from Level 1 and 6 cards each from Levels 2 and 3.
    • In 4-player games, randomly remove 2 cards from Level 1 and 3 cards each from Levels 2 and 3.
    • In 5-player games, no card will be removed.
  3. Shuffle the Dog House Cards of different levels separately to form three individual piles, 1 pile for each level.
  4. Place Point Markers next to the Dog House Cards. Lay out Scoring Cards in order below the Dog House Cards.
    • In 2-player games, use only Scoring Card of ranking 1; in 3-player games, use only 1 and 2, so on and so forth. Use all 5 Scoring Cards when playing with younger players so that they all will score one card each round.
    • In one-player games, players simply practice and exercise the building of the patterns.

Game Round

  1. Each player takes 1 Dog House Card of the lowest level and places it facedown in front of themselves. Players count "1, 2, 3, Go!" simultaneously and flip their Dog House Cards to start the round. Players must try to arrange their Shiba Inu Cards to match the pattern shown on their Dog House Cards.
  2. Once a player finishes the arrangement, they should quickly pick up one of the remaining Scoring Cards with the highest ranking (No. 1 is the highest ranking card and worth 5 points).
  3. After all players have each claimed one Scoring Card, examine all players' Dog House arrangements to see if their patterns are correct.
    • Correct: The player flips over the Scoring Card and takes that many Point Markers as shown on the backside of their Scoring Card.
    • Incorrect: The player scores nothing.

New Round

  1. All players take their Shiba Inu Cards back to their hands. Return the Scoring Cards to display in proper order.
  2. Discard their Dog House Cards faceup to the discard pile.
  3. Start a new round by repeating the game round.

Game End and the Winner

After 8 rounds (when all Dog House Cards are exhausted), the game ends. The player with the highest points wins. Add up their Point Markers. The players with the highest score win. If there is a tie, the tied players share the victory.
