Contents of the Game

  • 1 seesaw
  • 24 game stones in 4 colours

Object of the Game

Each player selects a colour. The game stones are catapulted in an upside down position into the air, thus making the colour of the stone visible. The player who has chosen the very colour, must react quickly and catch the stone.

Preparation of the Game

This game is played best either on the floor or on a table with table cloth.

Seesaw in the middle: The seesaw is placed in the centre, the distance between seesaw and the players should be about the same.

To get a certain skill handling the seesaw all players should catapult a couple of stones and catch them. The catapulting should be performed as straight as possible, at a height of 60 to 80 cm.

Before the game begins the players decide whether they take turns in catapulting or one player operates the seesaw during the game.

Shuffle the stones and place next to the seesaw: Each player selects one out of four colours. When played with 2 or 3 players, the colours not needed are put back in the box. Now all the pieces are shuffled colours face down and placed next to the seesaw.

How to Play the Game

The player catapulting the stones places one stone face down on the longer end of the seesaw. The stone spins while it is catapulted.

The player recognising his colour must catch it. When he is blocked up by another player he still gets his stone, even when not catching it. If the stone is caught by another player, it is returned to the player who has chosen its colour.

A player who does not succeed catching his stone has to put it back into the box.

A stone not catapulted high enough to be caught is added face down again to the others next to the seesaw.

Margin captions on the printed sheet, placed beside the paragraphs above: "Catapult stone and snap it" and "Snapped a different stone" (beside the paragraph on the player recognising his colour); "Missed the stone" (beside the paragraph on the stone not caught); "Not catapulted high enough" (beside the paragraph on the stone added face down again).

End of the Game

The game is finished, when a player has caught 4 stones of his colour.

The other players may continue playing until the second and third winner have been determined.

Game Variation for Two (or Three) Players

One colour is chosen in addition to the colours of the players. Stones of this additional colour may be caught by all players. The game is finished when one player has caught seven (six) stones (of the own and the additional colour).

Note: the printed sheet reads "seven (six)" here; the figure is transcribed as printed.
