Setup

Shuffle the cards well. Each player receives 5 face-down cards, which they take into their hand. The remaining cards form the face-down draw pile. All cards played later form the face-up discard pile.

Unicorn pugs (Einhornmöpse) can be placed face up in front of you immediately (do not draw).

The youngest player begins the game, and play proceeds clockwise. Each turn begins with drawing a card. Afterwards, a card may be played, but does not have to be. If a player has no cards in hand at the start of their turn, they may draw 3 cards.

The Pugs

  • The Pug: 1 pug point
  • The Double Pug: 2 pug points
  • The Unicorn Pug: 1 pug point

You may lay the Unicorn Pug face up in front of you. Nobody can nab it from you, and this point is definitely yours!

Action Cards

With some action cards you can draw more than one card from the draw pile. With others you can nab cards from other players, or have other players give cards to you. Some cards force players to hand over all of their cards, or to discard them completely.

Follow the instructions on the cards.

No worries: Should you ever run out of cards, the way back into the game is quick.

Use the action cards as well and as ruthlessly as you can, because the other players certainly will not hesitate!

Tip: Collecting many cards rarely pays off, because you quickly become the target of the other players.

Defence Cards

To dodge the sometimes nasty action cards, there is the Pug Says No card (Mops sagt Nein). It may be played at any time, by any player, onto any action card. The two cancel each other out, and they can be played against each other as often as you like.

There is also a Super Duper No! On this card, no further No card may be played, so it is a final statement. This can be a "no" or, if a No card was played before it, a "yes after all" (doch).

With Nooo, but... you can redirect an action card that was played against you onto a third player.

Example: "Nab not my cards, but Maria's cards!"

The Dark Pug

The only pug with negative points (Minuspunkte). It may not simply be discarded; it can only be given away or snatched away.

If, for example, a "Discard" (Leg ab) action card is played onto the card holder (Kartenhalter), the player must pass the Dark Pug on to the attacker.

The Dark Pug may never land on the discard pile!

End of the Game

When the last card has been drawn, the last action is also played. Add up your pug points. The player with the most pug points wins the round. Play as many rounds as you like.
