Treat Everything

Contrary to other Hospitalized Patients, any Patient who has the "Treat Everything" symbol on their card requires you to apply all treatments from all the exams the Patient has taken.

Inconclusive Results

Sometimes exams do not provide you with enough information as to what is wrong with a Patient. Those results are considered inconclusive.

When you draw an Inconclusive Results card, discard it. The entire action must be performed once more. If the sand in the Hourglass is still running, you must wait for it to run out and then start all over.

Further Exams

Sometimes the results of an exam indicate that further exams must be performed. These new Diagnosis cards require you to perform a different exam on your Patient in order to reach a conclusion about their treatment.

Surgical Complications

To use this module in your games, shuffle all Surgical Complication cards and place them in a face-down pile next to the Operating Rooms Game Board.

At the end of the Action Phase, for each Hospitalized Patient who is still in the Operating Room (regardless of the status of their treatment), draw a Surgical Complications card and apply its effect.

Here is what each Surgical Complications card does:

  • Lose Reputation based on the Patient's Condition. The card shows a yellow Condition icon with a loss of 1 Reputation star and a red Condition icon with a loss of 2 Reputation stars.
  • Lose Medical Points based on the Patient's Condition. The card shows a yellow Condition icon with a loss of 1 Medical Point and a red Condition icon with a loss of 2 Medical Points.
  • Remove all Organs from the Pharmacy.
  • Remove all Syringes from the Pharmacy.
  • Remove all Blood from the Blood Bank.
  • Nothing Happens.

Transcriber's note: the printed card art shows a yellow and a red Condition icon for the two Condition-based cards, and the source sheet does not name those icons; they are transcribed as printed.

Ambulance

The Rush M.D. Stretch rewards also include an Ambulance module that you can include in your games. Instructions on how to assemble the cardboard Ambulance can be found on the publisher's website, www.artipiagames.com.

When using the Ambulance, place all Hospitalized Patient cards in it during Setup. When admitting Patients, draw them from within the Ambulance. The Ambulance also comes with a new action for which a Doctor Hourglass must be placed on the Ambulance:

  • Emergency: Using a Doctor Hourglass, draw one Hospitalized Patient and place them directly on an available Bed in a Ward.

MRI Scanner

The Rush M.D. Stretch rewards also include an MRI Scanner module that you can include in your games. Instructions on how to assemble the cardboard MRI Scanner can be found on the publisher's website, www.artipiagames.com.

During Setup place the MRI Scanner next to the Diagnostic Imaging Game Board. When using the MRI Scanner, the MRI action is replaced by the following process: Instead of using the MRI tile, place a Doctor Hourglass on top of the MRI Scanner. Then pick up the Patient's Bed and carefully pass it through the MRI Scanner without knocking over the Doctor's Hourglass. If this is done successfully, draw an MRI Diagnosis card. If the Hourglass drops, the entire process must be repeated. Once the action has been performed correctly, the Patient may be moved away from the MRI area.
