Do 'if you win the Battle' monster abilities work if the monster was killed or taken hostage?
No. Under FAQ 2.0 the figure must still be alive and in the Battle at the end for abilities that trigger on winning (Kitsune, Oni of Souls, Piety). If it commits Seppuku, is taken hostage, is killed or leaves the Province, the ability does not count. This replaced an earlier reading that presence at any point was enough.
