Do I stay in a Battle after losing all my figures to Seppuku, a hostage or a start-of-Battle effect?
Many threads agree; the rulebook's own wording is silent on the timing of removal.

Yes. Whoever has Force in the Province when the Battle begins stays involved until it ends: you can still bid on War Advantages, hire Ronin, take hostages from others and share War Reparations. Effects that remove you before the Battle (at the start of the War Phase) mean you are not in it.
