Does removing a Mormo without battling it give the quest item for Hakan's main goal?
The designer said quest items come only from defeating the foe in battle.

No. You only gain the quest item when you defeat the Mormo in Battle. You can remove a Mormo by an effect, but you get no quest item for it.
