Object of the game
The person with the most points after 10 rounds has won the game.
Preparing for the game
Pencil and paper are required for keeping score. One of the players is chosen to keep the score throughout the game.
The 30 playing cards must be shuffled well. One of the cards is placed in the middle of the table where it can be reached easily by all of the players and the remaining cards are placed on the table as the pack to be drawn on thereafter. Now each player receives a token and the game can begin.
Attention: Before the first game starts the protective film must be removed from the mirror.
How to play
Each round begins when the card at the centre of the table is turned over. The oldest player starts the game. After the first round the players take turns (clockwise) to turn over the card.
Spheres in different colours are to be seen on the cards with lines crisscrossing them. These numbered lines are mirror axes on which the mirror is placed when working out the score.
As soon as the card at the centre of the table has been turned over, all of the players at the same time view the way the spheres are arranged and - each chooses the mirror axis that he or she believes will win the most points. Once a player has decided on a mirror axis, he or she places the token on the corresponding line number and hence reserves that position for him/herself.
A number already occupied by a player cannot be occupied by another player as well. This means the players must occupy the number, which will probably score highest, as fast as possible.
When all of the players have placed their tokens, starting with the first person to set his/her token, the mirror is placed on the chosen mirror axis to determine the number points won. In so doing, the respective player decides beforehand on which side the mirror surface it is to be aligned.
To work out the number of points the spheres in front and those reflected in the mirror are counted up together.
The following points system is applied:
- Red sphere / blue sphere: It is always the difference in number between the red and blue spheres that counts as the score. Example: 4 red spheres / 2 blue spheres = difference 2, so it is 2 points.
- Green sphere: Each green sphere scores a point (+1).
- Yellow sphere: Each yellow sphere scores a minus point (-1).
Example score: Look at the game scene on the lid of the box! In this case the player would obtain a 0 score because 4x blue and 4x red makes a difference of 0, just as 2x green (+2) and 2x red (-2) also comes to 0.
When the score for all players has been written down the next playing card is turned face-up. The player with the highest score after 10 rounds wins the game.
