In the Box

  • 75 Essentials Cards
  • 37 Snapshot Cards
  • Double-sided Pusheen's house Game Board (play inside or outside; the rules are the same)
  • 1 Pusheen Figure

Setting Up

  1. Put the game board with either side face up, in the middle of the table where everyone can reach it.
  2. Shuffle the Essentials deck and place it facedown to the side of Pusheen's house.
  3. Put one Essentials card faceup on each of the twelve card spaces in Pusheen's house.
  4. Shuffle the Snapshot deck and place it facedown below Pusheen's house.
  5. Draw four Snapshot cards and put them faceup under the board in a line.
  6. Give the Pusheen figure to the player who most recently fed a cat. They'll go first.

Playing the Game

Gather essentials from Pusheen's house, and use them to take snapshots of your weekend fun! Each Snapshot card has a certain number of stars. Collect 10 stars to win!

This game is played in rounds. Each round, you'll follow these steps:

  1. The player with the Pusheen figure places it on one of the paw-print spaces in Pusheen's house.
  2. Starting with the player who placed the Pusheen figure and going clockwise, each player will perform all of these steps on their turn:
    • Take an Essentials card, either by selecting one of the cards adjacent to the Pusheen figure OR by drawing a card from the Essentials deck and putting it in their hand.
    • If it is an ACTION CARD, do what the card says immediately, then discard it. The player may take a face-up Snapshot card by discarding the required Essentials cards from their hand.
    • Any discarded cards should be placed faceup next to the Essentials deck in a discard pile.
    • Example: To take the Snapshot card "Mine All Mine", a player would discard a Dragonsheen and any two Items from their hand.
  3. Check to see if any player has 10 or more stars.
  4. If no one has 10 or more stars, draw and place cards from the Essentials deck to fill the empty spaces in Pusheen's house.
  5. Draw and place cards from the Snapshots deck until there are four faceup cards below the board.
  6. Start the next round! The player who placed Pusheen last round hands it to the player on their left.

The Cards

Essentials Cards

There are three kinds of Essentials: Friends, Items, and Actions. Keep Friends and Items in your hand when you take them and use them to take Snapshot cards. If you take an Action card, do what the card says immediately, then discard it.

There is no limit to how many cards a player can hold. If the Essentials deck runs out, shuffle the discard pile to make a new one.

Snapshot Cards

Take Snapshot cards by discarding the required Essentials from your hand. Each Snapshot has one or more stars. Collect 10 stars to win.

Some Snapshot cards provide a special effect. These effects can either be an immediate effect or provide an ability for the rest of the game. Keep these with your other Snapshots where everyone can see them.

Winning

At the end of the round, after everyone has had the chance to take an Essentials card and a Snapshot, check to see if any player has 10 stars. If so, the game ends and the player with the most stars wins. If any players are tied, they all win!

Example Cards

The rulebook prints these example cards:

  • Action card "Nap Time": Choose up to 3 cards in Pusheen's house to discard. Then draw a card from the top of the Essentials deck.
  • Action card "Borrowed": Choose any player to give you a card of their choice from their hand.
  • Snapshot "Treat Yourself" (special effect): When you take this Snapshot, you may swap it with a Snapshot from any other player.
  • Snapshot "Ski Trip": Worth 1 star for each Ski Trip you take (including this one).
  • Snapshot "Mine All Mine" (face-up example): You may take 1 Item card from the discard pile.
