Start

  • Cards are shuffled
  • Each player is dealt 5 cards for their hand
  • The rest of the cards go in a draw pile

Object of the Game

Get 12 Grownup Points to be the most grownup!

The player who most recently complained about being tired goes first.

On your turn: You can do one of two things:

  • Take on more responsibilities (pick up 2 cards from the draw pile). You can never have more than 10 cards in your hand.

Or

  • Challenge the player to your right to see who is more grownup.

Challenging

Each Grownup Card (with blue borders) features three resource scores: time, energy and money. Choose one of these resources (ideally with a high number) and declare, "I have more time" or "I have more money" etc.

The player to your right has the option to challenge back or "ignore the problem" choosing not to risk a card.

If the player to your right challenges back then the player to their right also has the option of challenging. It could potentially go around the whole table to include every player.

The highest score of the chosen resource wins all cards as grownup point that were used in the challenge.

So for example, you challenged the player to your right with a money score of 8 and they had a money score of 9 then the player to your right would win both cards as grownup points.

The player who initiated the challenge always wins ties.

If the no other players entered the challenge, the initiating player gets that single card as a free point and the other players won't know what the value would have been.

Unipegasaurus Cards

These cards have purple borders and feature a silly creature called a unipegasaurus that lets you bend the rules of the game with the power of imagination.

These cards describe what they do right on the card.

Strategy

There are a few things to consider in this game if you want to play more strategically. How many cards do the other players have? Will you challenge back possibly sacrificing a strong card that could be played later? Are players bluffing? Should you take more cards to replenish your hand or challenge for points? Is this the best use of a unipegasaurus card?
