Manipulator

The Manipulator is additionally given to the player who won the auction first in Phase A and who may choose one of the face-up SR cards.

The Manipulator has access to the computer-controlled price scale at the resource terminal. The manipulation must be carried out immediately upon receiving the card. The player may choose only one of the following three options:

Basic Manipulation (Free)

The price indicator of one raw material (except quartz) may be changed by a maximum of +/- 3 steps.

Strong Manipulation (Cost: 4 Credits)

The price indicators of any raw materials (except quartz) may be changed by a total of up to +/- 4 steps.

Hyper-Manipulation (Cost: 8 Credits)

The price indicators of any raw materials may be changed by a total of up to +/- 5 steps.

Note: As printed, the Hyper-Manipulation option does not exclude quartz, unlike the Basic and Strong options.

Expense Allowance at Year-End

At the year-end, the number of the SR card determines the amount of the allowance in credits that the player receives from the IPF. (The card's wording reads "sein Spieler" ("his player"), which the transcriber has rendered as "the player".)

The Manipulator is then set aside again for the next Phase A.

Note: "SR card" is printed as-is. It appears to refer to the specialist cards of the base game, since the card's number is used as the allowance amount, and the base game's specialist cards are numbered 1 to 4. "IPF" is printed as-is and is not defined on the card.
