Components
- 16 ingredient tokens
- 12 pizza cards
Party Variant
Players are cooks making delicious pizzas. This variant rewards reflexes and observation. The player who first prepares 3 pizzas wins.
Setup
- Shuffle the pizzas and place them face down in a pile to the side of the table.
- Take 3 pizzas from the pile and place them face up in the middle of the table.
- Shuffle the ingredients and place them face down on the table.
Gameplay
The youngest player starts the first round. On their turn, a player reveals one face-down ingredient. Then the player seated to their left reveals the next ingredient, and so on, clockwise.
Ingredients should be revealed by sliding them "away from yourself," so that every player sees the ingredient at the same moment.
Ready Pizza
A pizza is ready when the 3 ingredients needed to make it (shown on the pizza) are revealed on the table and at least one cheese is also revealed.
Whoever notices a ready pizza should claim it as quickly as possible by placing their hand on it. The player who claims a ready pizza takes it and places it face down in front of them.
Example: this pizza needs 4 ingredients: mushrooms, tomato, onion, cheese.
Oh, those flies! Flies are not pizza ingredients and have no special effect. They simply bother the cooks by flying around the kitchen. When a fly is revealed, play continues normally; the turn passes to the next player.
New Round
After a player claims a pizza, place a new pizza from the pile so that 3 pizzas are face up. All ingredients are turned face down again and shuffled. The new round is started by the player who claimed the last pizza. They reveal a chosen ingredient, and play continues until a player claims another pizza.
End of the Game
The game ends when one player gets their third pizza. That player is the winner.
Additional Rules
The points below are not necessary to start the game, but it is worth returning to them after the first game.
- Players must keep their hands on the table in front of them.
- Pizzas may be claimed with one hand only.
- A player may claim a pizza with the same hand that revealed an ingredient.
- If a player places their hand on a pizza that is not yet ready (not all the needed ingredients have been revealed on the table), they must go without a taste. They cannot claim any pizza for the rest of the round.
- If several players place their hands on the same pizza at the same time, the winner is the player whose hand is lowest, directly on the pizza. If several hands lie directly on the pizza, the winner is the player whose hand covers the largest part of it. If it is difficult to determine the winner, the youngest player takes the pizza.
- It may happen that after an ingredient is revealed, more than one pizza is ready. In that case, several players may claim a pizza. The new round is then started by the youngest of those players.
Memory Variant
Goal
Each player's task is to find the ingredients for their own pizza. This variant calls for memory and a bit of luck. The player who first gets their third pizza wins the game.
Setup
- Shuffle the pizzas and place them face down in a pile to the side of the table.
- Deal one pizza from the pile to each player. Each player places their pizza face up in front of them.
- Shuffle the ingredients and place them face down on the table.
Gameplay
The youngest player starts. On their turn, a player turns over ingredients one at a time. The player may keep turning ingredients over until one of the following happens:
-
The 3 ingredients needed for the player's pizza are face up on the table, together with at least one cheese. The player claims the pizza, places it face down beside them, and draws another pizza from the pile. All ingredients on the table are turned face down and shuffled again. The next player, seated to the left of the previous player, takes the next turn, moving clockwise.
-
The player reveals an unneeded ingredient or a fly. The player ends their turn without claiming a pizza. All ingredients are turned face down again (without shuffling!). The next player, clockwise, takes their turn.
NOTE: When a player reveals a second or third cheese, play continues. Cheeses always fit every pizza.
Example: Ania reveals a mushroom. She needs it for her pizza, so she continues. She then reveals a tomato. She does not need it for her pizza. Ania turns all ingredients face down, and the next player takes their turn.
Example: Krzyś reveals a mushroom, then a tomato, two cheeses, and an onion. Krzyś claims a pizza because he has revealed all the ingredients needed to make it.
End of the Game
The game ends when one player gets their third pizza. That player is the winner.
