Setup

  1. Place the dice in the middle of the table.
  2. Shuffle the cards and deal 7 to each player. Players may look at their cards, but do not show them to the other players.
  3. Place the remaining cards in a face-down draw pile.
  4. Give the Piñata Stick token to the player who most recently hit a piñata.

How to Play

The player who has the Piñata Stick picks up all the dice and drops them above the table (or may throw them if they prefer).

Then all players try, simultaneously, to grab the dice that match the candies on their cards. Players must place the card face up in front of them before picking up and placing the matching die on the card. They may not take the die first and then place the card, and they may only place one card at a time. If a player places a card but does not get the matching die, they return the card to their hand.

Beware of the Rotten Candy!

The candy shown on the green die is rotten and cannot be collected this round. If a player collects the candy from the green die, they must discard the card on which they placed that candy.

When all the dice have been collected, or when nobody can collect the remaining dice, players take the cards that have dice on them and set them aside. These are victory points.

If at least one player has no more cards, the game ends. If all players still have cards in their hand, the game continues. Put the dice back in the middle of the table and pass the Piñata Stick to the next player clockwise. All players draw 1 additional card.

How to Win

The game ends when at least one player has no more cards in hand at the end of a round, or when there are no more cards left in the draw pile. Players discard any cards they still have in hand, and the victory points (printed on each card) are counted. The player who scores the most victory points wins!

For the Youngest Players

To play Piñata Blast with young children, play without victory points and without the rotten candy die. Count the number of cards collected at the end of the game. The player with the most cards wins. Players may also play with their cards face up on the table.
