Description
19 tokens (9 of one colour, 9 of another and 1 neutral).
18 of these tokens show values from 1 to 3 on one face. The neutral token has none.
Setup
Shuffle the 19 tokens, then turn them over one by one with their values showing, and lay them out to form the body of the serpent.
Player A chooses their colour.
Player B plays the first move.
Goal of the Game
Be the first to complete a stack of 7 tokens.
Moves
In turn, each player moves one token of their colour, to their left or to their right, jumping from token to token:
- A token of value 1 lands on the immediately adjacent token (1*).
- A token of value 2 lands two tokens further (2*).
- A token of value 3 lands three tokens further (3*).
Depending on the case, the moved token lands on a token of its own colour, or on a token of the opponent's colour, which it prevents from playing for as long as it covers it.
When a token is at the top of a stack, you may choose to move it alone, or with the token just beneath it. (Thus no more than two tokens can be moved at once.)
The neutral token cannot move by itself, but one may land on it, in order to take it along later.
Instead of making a move, you may swap two of your tokens; if they are at the top of a stack, the whole stack is swapped at the same time; but you may not swap if the opponent has just done so.
If, late in the game, you can no longer move any token of your colour, you pass your turn, for as long as this situation persists.
End of the Game
The player who first obtains a stack of at least 7 tokens wins the game.
