How are starting Setup Contracts chosen, and how many are dealt?

Use the 8 white-backed Setup Contract cards, not the board contracts. Deal one more card than the number of players face up; each player picks one in turn and the rest go back in the box. The word 'Startup' in the rulebook is a typo for Setup.
