Can I combine A New Beginning modules with base-game modules, and play base missions with the farm?

Yes. With the farm (new basic deck and farm board), any mission combination works, and base missions become somewhat easier because agriculture helps with food. Without the farm, most new missions still work with minor house rules (for example ignoring capturing animals alive), but the first expansion mission needs the farm. Any two modules can be combined, and old or new humans may be used.
