Is removing a Suspicion card when I Absolve mandatory or optional?
The designer ruled the removal is mandatory; this contradicts the rulebook's permissive wording, so the ruling wins.

Mandatory. The rulebook says Absolve "lets you" remove a Suspicion card, which reads as optional, but the designer ruled that all effects are required, so you must discard one (if you have any). This matters for Peddler-style strategies that want to hoard Suspicion.
