- Bed-shaped board (with a syringe connected to the bed by an electric cord, and a removable drawer)
- 12 plastic "virus" pieces
- 12 cards
Goal of the Game
Remove as many viruses as possible from the patient's body in order to score the most points.
Assembling the Game
- Take the cards out of their holder and throw the holder away.
- Ask an adult to insert 2 LR6 batteries, as described below.
Battery Installation
Important: battery installation. Read the following information. The batteries must be installed by an adult.
Precautions to take:
- Follow the instructions carefully. Use only the recommended batteries. Insert the batteries correctly, respecting the + and - signs.
- Do not mix new and used batteries, or standard (zinc-carbon) and alkaline batteries.
- Remove used batteries.
- Remove the batteries if the product is not going to be used for a long time.
- Do not short-circuit the battery terminals.
- If the product causes electrical interference or seems to be malfunctioning, move it away from other electrical devices. Restart it if necessary (switch it off and on again, or remove the batteries and replace them).
- DO NOT USE NON-RECHARGEABLE BATTERIES. DO NOT RECHARGE NON-RECHARGEABLE BATTERIES.
Preparing the Operation
- Insert 3 "virus" pieces into each of the 4 slots on the sides of the bed. (See diagram.)
- Shuffle the cards and place them in a face-down pile. Each card shows a drawing that tells you which path to move the virus along through the patient's body. There are 4 starting paths: right leg, left leg, right arm, left arm. Each card is worth 2, 3 or 4 points, according to the difficulty of the path you will have to take to reach the patient's stomach.
Course of the Operation
- The youngest player starts or, if you want to vary it, the player who was most recently ill starts. The game runs clockwise.
- Turn the first card of the pile face up to reveal the path along which you will have to move the virus.
- Use the syringe to move the virus along the path to the patient's stomach, represented by a hole in the middle of the board. Be careful not to touch the edges of the path, otherwise the patient's nose will light up and the buzzer will sound!
- If you touch the edge, your turn is over. Leave the virus where it is and place the card face up next to the bed. The next player continues to move the virus from where you left it, trying to win the card.
- If you manage to move the virus and make it drop into the hole without the nose lighting up, you win the card. Place it in front of you. Your turn is over, and it is the player on your left who draws a card.
- The game ends when all the cards have been won.
The Winner
Add up the points of the cards you have won. The player with the most points wins. That is the best surgeon!
To play again, remove the drawer located on the side of the bed and recover the "virus" pieces that are in it.
