Components
- 66 Sock cards (divided into 11 sets: one Super Sock, two of "2", three of "3", etc.)
- 1 Washing Machine card
Setup
- Shuffle the 66 Sock cards face down.
- Take 10 Sock cards (without looking at them) and shuffle the Washing Machine card into them. Place this small stack underneath the remaining cards to form a draw pile containing all the cards.
- The player wearing the most fun socks starts the game. You then take turns, playing clockwise.
How to Play
On your turn, draw 2 cards and reveal them. Then:
- Choose one card to add to your collection. Place the cards in your collection face up in front of you. Sort them into sets and arrange them so everyone can easily see how many cards you have in each set.
- Pass the other card to the player on your left or right, depending on the direction of the arrow on the card. That player must add this card to their own collection.
Example: If you choose to pass this card on, you must give it to the person on your right, as indicated by the arrow.
- If the card you kept has an effect, you must activate it if possible.
Note: Effects do not apply when you give or receive a card.
Special Cards
Gift (x9) Draw the top card from the deck without looking at it and give it to the player of your choice. That player keeps it face down next to their collection. This card will only be revealed at the end of the game and will then be added to the corresponding set.
Rescue (x9) Choose a single Sock from another player's collection and place it in your own collection. This Sock must be the only one of its type in the other player's collection. If no players have a single Sock card the action is ignored.
Super Sock (x1) When you add the Super Sock to your collection, you must add it to one of your Sock sets. The Super Sock now represents a Sock of the chosen type but does not score any points itself.
Note: If this is the first Sock collected in the game, the next Sock collected determines its type. It will be added to that Sock's set.
If the Super Sock is received face down as a gift, the player will choose which Sock set it belongs to at the end of the game.
End of the Game
The game ends immediately when you draw the Washing Machine card.
It's time to reveal any Gift cards you received during the game and to add them to your Sock sets—whether it helps you… or not!
Scoring
For each set, you will only score points if you have collected an even number of Socks (2, 4, 6, 8, 10 Socks). Sets with an odd number of Socks (1, 3, 5, 7, 9, 11 Socks) are discarded and score no points.
Each star symbol is worth one point. The player with the highest total score wins the game. In case of a tie, the player with the fewest sets of Socks wins.
Tip: To make scoring easier, discard all your sets with an odd number of Socks before counting the sets with an even number of Socks.
Score example: In this end-of-game situation, the player scores 2 (blue) + 5 (green) = 7 points. The yellow set does not score any points because it has an odd number of socks.
Variant for 2 Players
Play side-by-side (not facing each other). On your turn, if the arrow on the card you deal points to the side with no-one on it, that card is discarded.
Leave discarded cards face up so that you can take them into account when making decisions… The rest of the rules remain unchanged.
