Contents

  • 100 cards with 300 questions ("Aufgaben"): "Kuriositäten" (blue) and "Begriffe" (pink)
  • 16 tip chips
  • 4 decoders
  • Pen and paper are also needed for each player (not included)

Goal

The players try to score points by guessing the correct answers to tricky questions. Anyone who also manages to mislead the other players with invented, but convincing-sounding answers scores once more. Because: whoever spins it better, wins!

Setup

Shuffle all the question cards and place them as a stack in the middle of the table. Each player receives a set of tip chips of one colour, marked with the letters A, B, C and D, one decoder, and a sheet of paper and a pen. On the sheet, you write down your invented answers.

One player writes down the points for all players.

The structure of the cards

Each card shows three questions in total: two on the front and one on the back. Each question has answer suggestions:

  • one correct answer (encrypted)
  • two false answers
  • two invented, but convincing-sounding answers
  • and once the prompt "Hier ist deine Kreativität gefragt" ("Your creativity is needed here")

This means that each player must invent a fourth answer option per round and write it down.

The pink cards contain foreign words and terms, the blue cards contain curiosities and unusual occurrences.

The correct answer is overprinted in red. You can read it when you lay the decoder over it.

Gameplay

Each player takes any card from the stack without showing it to the other players. The top card of the stack serves only to cover the cards underneath.

With the three questions on the card you drew, you play three rounds in total per game.

All players now read the first question on their card and the answer suggestions silently, and use their decoder to decipher the correct answer.

Then everyone simultaneously becomes creative and invents the fourth answer for their first question.

Tip: Think of something a little offbeat, yet convincing-sounding.

Each player writes this answer option on their own sheet of paper and assigns it to the letter behind the prompt "Hier ist deine Kreativität gefragt". Of course, players may not repeat any of the given answers.

Tips:

  • The invented answer should resemble the given answers in length and sentence structure. It is best to also write the correct answer on your sheet. That way, your looks will not reveal which answer is the one you invented when you later read them aloud.

When everyone has written down their invented answer, the reading and tipping round follows.

Reading and tipping

The player with the longest first name is the first reader. After that, play continues clockwise.

The reader reads his question and all four answer suggestions aloud, clearly. He also always names the letter in front of each answer: A, B, C or D.

The reader should read all answers equally convincingly. That way, the other players cannot tell which answer is correct, which are false, and which false answer he invented himself!

The other players then choose the letter behind which they suspect the correct answer is. They place their matching tip chip face down (letter facing down) in front of them on the table. The reader does not tip.

Then each player turns over their chip. The reader now announces the correct answer.

Scoring

  • Well guessed: Anyone who tipped the correct answer receives 2 points.
  • Well spun: If the reader has misled one or more other players with his self-invented answer, he receives 3 points for each player who fell for that answer.

The next player then becomes the reader. He also reads his first question and the four answers that belong to it. Then tipping and scoring take place again, and so on.

Rounds 2 and 3

Once the first round is over, the second round follows, and then the third round, played in the same way with the remaining questions on the same cards.

If you are playing with two players, play one more complete card before the game ends.

End of the game

The game ends after the third round (with two players: after the sixth round). The player with the most points wins. If several players have the same number of points, these players share the victory.
