- 1 board
- 80 cards (10 each of 1-7, and 10 jokers, the cards with 2 coins)
- 6 colors of chips (5 of each: 4 plain chips and one "superchip" which has a black circle on it)
Game Board
The game board has 8 rows with room for up to 3 chips on each row. Starting from the top, the rows are:
- 4 of a kind (Vierling)
- 4 straight (4er Strasse)
- 3 of a kind (Drilling)
- 3 straight (3er Strasse)
- 2 of a kind (Zwilling)
- 2 straight (2er Strasse)
- 1 card (Eine Karte)
- no cards (Keine Karte)
Next to each row are 3 numbers and space to slide the chips on them.
Set Up
Place the board in the middle. Each player selects a color and takes those 5 chips (4 plain and one "superchip" which has a black circle).
Shuffle the cards and deal each player 12 cards.
These 12 cards are all players will receive for the round. If you are using the Igor variant, leave the deck next to the board; otherwise set the deck aside as no more cards will be needed for the round.
You will need a pencil and paper to record the scores.
Play
The oldest player starts the first round. After that the player with the highest score starts.
The game is played in 4 rounds. Each round is 5 phases. In each phase, each player plays 1-4 cards and plays a chip on the corresponding row. So if you play a straight of 3 cards you would slide in your chip on the row marked "3er Strasse."
Chips always enter the row from left to right. If there are chips there they are pushed to the right. If a chip is pushed off the board it remains where it is and will not score that round.
Each player, clockwise from the starting player, plays a card or cards (if possible) and plays 1 chip on the corresponding row. This is repeated 5 times until all players have played all 5 of their chips. Players must play at least 1 card if they can. Players can not pass. Rows may be filled in any order. Cards played are then discarded and can't be played again.
If a player runs out of cards before they run out of chips, they must play the chip(s) on the row marked "Keine Karte." Players may not play on this row unless they have no cards left; then they must play there.
Jokers
The cards with 2 coins are jokers (wild cards). A maximum of one joker per phase may be used. In the 5th phase a joker may only be used singly in the "Eine Karte" row.
Superchip
Each player has 1 superchip which has a circle. The superchip may be played in phases 1-4 face up and it will score double. Superchips played in the 5th phase are played face down and score like a plain chip.
5th Phase
As stated above, in the 5th phase a joker may only be used singly in the "Eine Karte" row. Superchips played in the 5th phase are played face down and score like a plain chip.
After the 5th phase all chips should have been played. Each chip still on the board is worth the value of the number under it. The superchip (if it is face up) scores double.
The player with the highest total score starts rounds 2-4.
The player with the highest score after 3 rounds is the winner.
Igor Variant
Recommended when playing with 2 or 3 players.
Igor is another player. Give Igor 5 chips. Igor plays last in each phase. When it is Igor's turn, deal him (face up):
- 2 cards in the 1st phase
- 3 cards in the 2nd phase
- 4 cards in the 3rd phase
- 5 cards in the 4th phase (superchip)
- 5 cards in the 5th phase
Igor plays a chip on the highest possible row. Igor always plays last in each phase. Igor may use as many jokers as he is dealt. Igor plays his superchip during the 4th phase.
Score Igor like an extra player. Igor can win the game, so don't let him beat you!
