Setup

Each player chooses a Ninjago character, three weapons, a spinner, a crown and four battle cards.

Put a weapon in your character's hand, build the crown onto the spinner, and place your character into your spinner.

Spinning and Falling

Say "Ninja GO!" then spin your characters towards each other.

When a character falls, the character still standing wins. The winner takes one weapon held by the losing character.

Battle Cards

Play cards at any time during the battle. Each card can only be played once.

Spinjitzu Power (SP)

You can only play a battle card if your character has equal or more Spinjitzu Power. Compare the SP on each battle card with the matching SP on your character card.

The guide illustrates this with a checkmark on a card that can be played ("You can play the card.") and a cross on a card that cannot be played ("You cannot play the card.").

Attributes

The battle card and character card attributes shown in the guide are:

  • Fire Attack
  • Lightning Speed
  • Earth Defense
  • Ice Stealth

Each attribute is marked with its own icon on the cards.

Character Card

The character card shows the character's name, its Total Spinjitzu Power, and an SP value for each attribute. The card also carries a Golden Weapon mark, which the special card rule below refers to.

Special Cards

You can play the card if you have equal or more SP, but only if you are holding a golden weapon (1) or if you have a crown on your spinner (2).

The guide's example special card is "Boomerang". Its illustration shows two labelled options, "Replay top card" and "Throw this card".

Power Cards

You can play the card if all your powers have equal or more SP.

The guide shows several examples of the same power card, "Extinguish", with the checkmark on the card that can be played.

Ending a Battle

After you finish playing, return any weapons you won to your opponent.

Illustrated Cards Without Printed English Text

The guide also illustrates two further cards at the bottom of page 2, titled "Retreat" and "Wildfire" in the artwork. The English column of the leaflet prints no instruction text for these two cards; only the other languages appear beside them. Their rules are therefore not transcribed here. Refer to the printed leaflet or the card art for them.
