1. Setup
Before the first game divide the player tiles into sets according to the markings you find on the cards. Each player gets one set and places the tiles on the table like on the picture. The tiles can be arranged in any order.
The theme cards are shuffled and then placed in a pile face-down, where every player can reach them.
The tiles have 1 of 6 different patterns on their frontside and 1 on the backside. There is no tile with the same pattern on both sides. There are 3 tiles with the same pattern in each set (front- and backside).
2. Game Play
The game starts with turning the top theme card. The card remains face-up on the pile.
(Illustration caption: "Place the top card face-up.")
The goal of the game is to rearrange the player tiles, so that the same arrangement as shown on the theme card is achieved. You can move or turn every tile. The fastest player wins.
It does not matter from which side the arrangement of the player tiles matches the arrangement shown on the theme card.
The first player to turn the theme card is the oldest player. After that, it is always the winner of the previous round who turns the theme card.
3. Ready!
The fastest player places his/her hand on the pile of the theme cards. Only the player who finished to arrange his/her tiles first gets the theme card and earns one point.
Every player should check if the player, who put his/her hand on the deck got the arrangement right. If the player made a mistake, he has to keep the theme card face-down as a punishment. If one player collects 2 of those face-down theme cards, he loses the game and is not allowed to participate from that point of time. Be careful!
4. End
If one player gets a card, repeat the game starting from step 2.
The game ends when one player collected 4 theme cards. The other places depend on the amount of cards the other players collected.
(Illustration shows 1st, 2nd and 3rd place, each with that player's collected theme cards.)
If two or more players collected the same amount of theme cards, it's a tie.
How to play with more than 5 people
If you have two copies of this game you can play with up to 8 people. Every player gets one set of player tiles, but only one set (30 cards) of the theme cards is used.
The basic principle of the game stays the same. The only difference is that, when turning the theme card, not only the top card is turned face-up, but also the second top theme card. The players can decide which arrangement they want to copy. It is also possible to change one's mind in between.
If one of the theme cards is already taken by another player, it is still possible to copy the arrangement shown on the second theme card. The player who won the first theme card can not win the second card.
Playing with children
To make the game easier, when playing with children and adults, it is possible to start after one player counted to 10. Also, when playing with small children, it is possible to exclude the punishment rule.
