Setup

  1. Before starting the game, roll the dice to place the Torii on the board. The two districts must be different from each other. If this is not the case, reroll one of the dice until you obtain a different district.
  2. Place the Maneki-neko cat on the table with the other black cats from the base game. There are now a total of 8 cats to hang.

How to Play

The Torii

During the game, ensure that nothing touches the Torii, including cables, pole[s]. [Verb and object cut off by the foam] the interfering element so that the Torii remains untouched, then continue the game.

The Maneki-neko

When a player rolls the Culture district on the dice or it is chosen by a player, they must hang the Maneki-neko cat on the cable installed during that turn after placing their Denchuu. If a player get[s the Culture district again], they must then take down the Maneki-neko from its previous location and hang it on the new cable.

The Maneki-neko must be taken down and hung after the Denchuu is placed and before any black cats from the base game are hung, if there are any. If, after hanging the Maneki-neko, there is no cable available of the [same color as the drawn cube to hang one] or more black cats, the active player keeps the black cube(s) for their next turn.
