Privilege-Cards

The 7 privilege cards are a small expansion for NAVEGADOR. They form a supply beside the game board. The following additional rules apply:

1. A player who chooses "PRIVILEGE" on the rondel picks one privilege card from the supply at the end of their turn. It does not matter whether the player takes a small privilege from the gallery or not.
2. The players may own only one privilege card at a time. If a player enters "PRIVILEGE" and still owns a card, they must exchange it for a new privilege card.
3. Privilege cards are played in addition to the rondel action and put back to the supply afterwards. With the exception of the card "Buildings discount" they are not bound to a special rondel action. When moving backwards on the rondel, only the chosen action is performed.
4. A card which is played while on "PRIVILEGE" may not be picked in the same turn.

Privilege Cards

Build a ship for free & let it sail

The new ship starts in Portugal and may sail immediately. The distance depends on the game phase.

Move backwards on the rondel

The player moves his game stone on the rondel 1, 2 or 3 squares backwards and performs the chosen action.

Found one new colony

The player may found exactly one new colony. It must be purchased as usual, also with an own ship present in the region.

Change one price by 4 squares

The player may change one market price up to 4 squares.

Depending on the phase: 3/6/9 sail steps

The player has 3 / 6 / 9 sail steps available. These may be freely allocated to their ships.

One temporary worker

The player uses one additional worker. The card may be spent on "PRIVILEGE" instead of a normal worker.

Buildings discount depending on the phase:

The player gets a discount on "BUILDINGS". Depending on the game phase they save 50, 100 or 150 Cruzados.

Summary Card

The summary card is not one of the 7 privilege cards. It is printed with the following text, a summary of the rules for the privilege cards:

1. Whenever you hit "PRIVILEGE" on the rondel take a privilege card.
2. You may own only one privilege card at a time.
3. Play a privilege card in addition to your rondel action and put it back into the supply afterwards.
4. If you use a card on "PRIVILEGE" you may not take that card again.
