Rules

The printed sheet has no section headings; this heading is added by the transcriber. The bold lead-ins below are the sheet's own.

And here's how to start: All cards are shuffled and dealt face down. Each player receives an equal number of cards; any surplus cards are set to the side. Each player places their cards as a face-down stack in front of them on the table. The card dealer begins by turning over the top card of their stack and placing it face up on the table in front of them, so that all players can see the cards at the same time. Then, clockwise, the next player does the same by turning over the top card of their stack, and so on. If a player comes around to the row again, they place a new card on their already face-up card.

Watch out! Whenever two cards of the same value, or two cards showing the same animal, lie face up on the table, the owners of those two cards must react.

  • With identical values, one must make the animal noise of the animal the other player has as a card. For example, Linda has a cow with value 8 lying face up in front of her, and Ella turns over a donkey with the same value. Then Linda must say "i-ah" and Ella must say "Moo."
  • If it is the same animal, the value of the other player's card must be called out. For example, Ella has a cow with value 3 lying face up in front of her, and Linda turns over a cow with value 6. Then Linda must call "three" and Ella must call "six."

The player who reacts fastest receives all face-up cards of the other player and places them, together with their own face-up cards, under their face-down card stack. If the fastest player made a mistake, the other (second-fastest) player receives the cards. If a duel occurred, the game always continues with the winner of the cards. If two players are equally fast during an action, nothing happens and the game continues with the next player. If three players take part in an action (2 x value and 2 x animal), the faster player always wins, and receives all three card stacks (in a tie, nobody!).

If a player is on turn and has all cards of their stack face up, these cards remain lying face up in front of them, and the next player is up to turn a card. Once every player has all their cards face up, so that none can be turned over any more, each player may turn their card stack face down again and shuffle it. The game then continues normally. If a player has lost all their cards, they are out of the game.

Special case: Hand slap! Attention, here the players must "swat the mosquitoes." As soon as one or more hand cards have been turned face up, all players may slap their hand onto the largest mosquito that lies face up on the table or that is turned face up. When new hand cards are turned face up, mosquitoes must be swatted until all hand cards are face down again. The largest mosquito is always on the card with the highest value.

Careful: Some cards also show small mosquitoes in addition to the animal. Here too, the numerical value determines the "size" of the mosquito. With cards of equal value, one must slap the mosquito that is also visually larger. Whoever first slaps the correct mosquito receives all face-up cards lying on the table.

End of the game: The game ends when, with 4 players, one player (with 5–6 players, 2 players) has no cards left. The winner is the player who has the most cards at the end (face up and face down). In case of a tie, the player who has the most cards with mosquitoes wins.
