1 gameboard • 2 dice • 4 ship tokens • 64 cardboard property markers (16 for each ship) • 16 Chance cards • 1 money pack
Object
Build your galactic empire by traveling around the board and purchasing iconic Star Wars properties along the way. Earn money by charging players rent to visit places you own.
How to Win
The game ends when all the properties are purchased. The player with the most property markers on the board at the end of the game wins! If there is a tie, the player with the most money wins.
The First Time You Play
Press out all 64 property markers from the die-cut sheet. Please dispose of any waste responsibly.
Set It Up
-
Open the gameboard tray and place it in reach of each player.
-
Choose your ship token and place it on GO.
-
Find the 16 cardboard property markers that match your ship and keep them in front of you.
-
Shuffle the Chance cards and place them face down on the Chance space in the tray.
-
Pick one player to be the Banker. The Banker gives each player:
- 5 × ₥1
- 1 × ₥5
- 2 × ₥10
- 1 × ₥20
- 1 × ₥50
- 4 × ₥100
- 2 × ₥500
Each player should receive a total of ₥1,500. Keep the rest of the money to the side as the Bank.
Play
Each player rolls one die. The highest roller will start the game. Play continues to the left.
-
Roll both dice and move your ship token that number of spaces clockwise. Always move forward, never backward.
-
If you roll a double, move, then roll the dice again, and take another turn.
Watch out! If you roll a double three times in the same turn, you must go to jail!
-
Where did you land? Check THE BOARD SPACES section of this guide.
-
Your turn is over. The player on your left goes next.
The Board Spaces
An Unowned Property
If no one owns it, you must either buy it or auction it.
Want to buy it? Pay the price on the board space and place one of your property markers in the notch by the space.
Don't want to buy the property or can't afford it? Then the Banker must auction it. Bids start at ₥10. All players may bid. If no one would like to bid for the property, it remains unowned. See the AUCTIONS section on the back page for more information.
An Owned Property
If another player owns it, pay the RENT amount shown on the space to the owner.
If you own it, your turn is over.
Owning a color set: If you own all properties of the same color (for instance all three Endor properties), the rent for these properties is doubled!
GO
Every time you pass or land on GO, collect ₥200 from the Bank.
Hyperspace
Immediately move to the next unowned property.
Galactic Empire Tax
You owe the Empire money! Pay the amount shown on the space to the Bank.
Go to Jail
Move your token to the "In Jail" space immediately! Do not collect ₥200 for passing GO. Your turn is over. You may still collect rent, auction, and trade while you are in jail.
Just Visiting
Simply place your token in the Just Visiting section.
Free Parking
Nothing happens here, just take a break!
Chance
- Take the top Chance card, read it out loud, and follow the instructions.
- Return used cards to the bottom of the pile.
How Do I Get Out of Jail?
You have 3 options:
- Roll a double on any of your next three turns; if you succeed in doing this, you immediately move forward the number of spaces shown on your dice. Even though you rolled doubles, you do not get to take another turn.
- Use the Get Out of Jail Free card at the start of your next turn if you have it. (You can also try buying or trading for it from another player.) Put the card at the bottom of the Chance pile, then roll and move.
- Pay a fine of ₥50 before your turn. You may then roll the dice and take your turn as usual.
If you do not roll doubles by your third turn, you must pay the ₥50 fine. You then get out of jail immediately and move forward the number of spaces shown on your dice.
Use the Force
Landing on a "USE THE FORCE" space grants you a special power. When you land on the space:
-
Roll one die.
-
Match the number you rolled to one of the six different actions in the middle section of the gameboard.
-
Follow the instructions depending on what you rolled:
- Mind Trick: Swap one of your properties with the property of a player of your choice.
- Force Stealth: Move to any unowned space and purchase this space for free. Do not collect ₥200 for passing GO.
- Force Levitate: Swap the location of your ship with any other ship on the board. Do not collect ₥200 for passing GO. The turn ends as soon as the positions are swapped.
- Force Pull: Move any player to one of your owned properties and collect rent.
- Mind Trick: Steal ₥50 from each player.
- Force Dash: Move directly to GO and collect ₥200.
Help! I Can't Pay!
Do You Owe Another Player?
- Try bargaining with the Get Out of Jail Free card, if you have it.
- Sell them your properties to pay off the debt.
Properties can be sold at half their purchase value, or traded to the satisfaction of both players.
If you still cannot pay, you must give all your properties to the player you owe. You are now bankrupt and out of the game.
Do You Owe the Bank?
Sell your properties to the Bank to pay off your debt.
- Properties can be sold at half their purchase value.
- Any properties sold back to the Bank are now available to purchase as normal when a player lands on that space on the board.
If you still cannot pay the Bank...
You must give any properties you have left to the Bank, which are then immediately auctioned among the other players. Return the Get Out of Jail Free card to the bottom of the Chance pile, if you have it. You are now bankrupt and out of the game.
The remaining players keep playing until all properties are purchased.
Auctions
If you land on an unowned property and you don't want to buy it, the Banker must auction it.
- The Banker starts the auction by offering the space to everyone for ₥10.
- Anyone can increase the bid by as little as ₥1 (even the Banker and the player who originally landed on the space).
- The highest bidder wins the auction, pays the Bank, and places their property marker in the slot by the property's edge.
What if no one wants it? If no one would like to bid for the property, it remains unowned.
Win!
- Once all properties on the board have been purchased, the game ends. The player who owns the most properties is the winner.
- In case of a tie, the player with the most money wins!
