Components
55 cards:
- 36 Monster Parts cards (eyes, mouths and feet)
- 18 Secret Goal cards
- 1 EXTRA COOKIE card
The table layout (shown on the rules sheet): Monster 1 and Monster 2 are built side by side, each as a column of three parts — eyes at the top, mouth in the centre, feet below. Each player holds 3 Monster Parts cards and 1 Secret Goal card.
Display
Each player receives 1 Secret Goal card and 3 Monster Parts cards. The remaining cards are placed FACE DOWN to form a deck. Then the first 2 cards from that deck are put on the table to show where we will build Monster 1 and 2. These cards are placed according to the BASIC RULE: eyes at the top, mouth in the centre and feet go below. This rule can NEVER be broken.
Actions
When it's our turn we can carry out 1 of the following 3 actions:
A. PLACE 1 of our cards in a free space or OVER another card. After placing the card on the table we must take 1 from the deck so we have 3 in our hand again.
B. MOVE 1 card from one monster to another. We can move any top card EXCEPT the one moved by THE PLAYER directly before us.
C. CHANGE goal. We can change our goal card ONLY 1 time during the game.
Completing a Monster
As soon as our monster appears on the table we have to shout "MONSTER!" and show our Goal card to the other players so they can check it's correct. Then we will keep that card face down to indicate that we have earned 1 cookie* (the prize) and take a new Goal card. The first player to get 3 cookies wins the game.
*EXTRA COOKIE Rule: Some cards have STARS in the background. If a player builds his Goal with this background on all 3 PARTS, he will receive the EXTRA COOKIE card. But he can lose that cookie at any time because the next player to build his monster with stars in the background will take it. If two players build their monster with stars at the same time, neither of them gets the extra cookie.
ATTENTION: when a player takes the last card from the deck, all cards on the table are collected together to form a new deck. Take the first 2 cards to start building Monster 1 and 2.
Mix It Express
Players receive ONLY 1 Secret Goal card. The Monster Parts deck is placed FACE UP on the table and the "PLACE" action is done directly from the deck.
