Treasure Map Rules

  • This treasure map is not a Room card.
  • Don't shuffle it with the others, but instead keep it aside.
  • With this independent module, roll the Dungeon die at the start of each Area to determine which path you need to take in order to get the corresponding bonus!

Treasure Map Card

The card is headed "Treasure Map" and shows a [dice icon] at the top right. Six numbered panels are printed on the card. Each panel shows a 3x3 grid of cells, with the bottom-right cell coloured red, and a white line drawn through the grid ending in an arrow at the red cell. Below the panels is a "Rewards" band listing the bonus for each panel.

Panels, as drawn:

  • 1: The line starts at the left edge of the top row, runs along the top row, down the right-hand column, and ends in the red cell.
  • 2: The line starts at the left edge of the top row, runs along the top row to the middle column, down into the middle row, across to the right-hand column, and ends in the red cell.
  • 3: The line starts at the left edge of the top row, runs along the top row to the middle column, down the middle column to the bottom row, and ends by entering the red cell from the left.
  • 4: The line starts in the top-left cell, runs down the left-hand column to the middle row, across the middle row to the right-hand column, and ends in the red cell.
  • 5: The line starts in the top-left cell, runs down the left-hand column to the middle row, across into the middle column, down to the bottom row, and ends by entering the red cell from the left.
  • 6 (drawn as a die face showing six pips): The line starts in the top-left cell, runs down the left-hand column to the bottom row, along the bottom row, and ends by entering the red cell from the left.

Rewards

Each Dungeon die result has a bonus printed under it in the Rewards band:

Dungeon dieReward
1+4 Gold
2+1 [crossed-swords icon]
3+5 HP
4+1 Food
5+1 Armor
6+1 Potion

Transcriber's notes:

  • The card and the BGG description do not say what the 3x3 grid represents, whether the path is physically traced or followed by the Character, or when the bonus is gained (on the roll, or after the path is completed). These points are not stated in the printed text and are not filled in here.
  • The rules text says to roll the Dungeon die "at the start of each Area", as printed. Its relation to the base game's Area setup and turn sequence is not stated on the card.
  • The reward icons are identified from the picture: the gold coin as Gold, the red heart as HP, the drumstick as Food, the grey shield as Armor and the purple flask as a Potion. The crossed-swords icon is kept in brackets because its meaning is not printed on the card.
  • The panel for die 6 is drawn as a die face showing six pips, rather than a number, as printed.
