Purpose of the game

In FITS, each player tries to complete his board with pieces, to score the maximum points.

Preparation

Before you start, carefully remove all elements from the pre-cut plates.

Each player receives a plastic frame, all pieces of the chosen color and the corresponding frame. From 1 to 3 players, the unused material is returned to the box.

Mix the 4 purple cards and the 13 pink cards separately, and place the two decks in the middle of the table, face down. Also, use a sheet of paper and a pencil to keep track the points.

How to play

(for 2 to 4 players)

The game is played in two rounds. During the first round, players insert the board marked 1 into their open plastic frame at the top.

Drawing of the Starting cards and placing of the first piece

Each player chooses one of the four initial cards; until the end of the round, it will remain in front of them, face up. Place the indicated piece on your tray as the starting piece.

Basic rules

  • Everyone is free to choose the column.
  • The part can be rotated in any direction. Each offers up to 8 possibilities.

Correct positioning: Place the part on top of the board and slide it down (see illustration A). It is forbidden to turn or move the piece to the right or left in another column during descent.

Take out piece cards and place the pieces: Once the initial piece is placed, turn the card on the top of the stack of cards. Each player takes the corresponding piece in their reserve and places it on top of their board. The rules remain the same as the initial piece. Each slides the piece until it reaches the bottom edge or is blocked by an already placed part (see illustration B).

Rules to be respected

  • All players put the same piece.
  • If the card coincides with the initial card of a player, discard and take another card.
  • No piece can project from the right or left edges, but can overflow at the top of the grid.
  • A player may give up placing a piece: if a piece does not fit well or if he can not put it, you can set it aside. A player can put aside as many pieces as he wants during a round.

Tip: Putting a piece would sometimes leave many holes. Therefore, it is preferable to give up. But since each piece appears only once per turn, it can not be used later.

Attention: It is forbidden to insert a part into a hole that is not accessible from the top. (see illustration C and D)!

Once each one has placed the piece of the card, a new piece card is taken from the deck and placed on top of the previous card, forming a discard pile. Each player then takes the represented piece to place it on their board.

End of round

The round ends as soon as the pieces deck finishes, and a first count is made.

For the second round, insert the side 2 plate.

Shuffle the Match and Play cards ... and the game resumes.

Count points

The counting of the points differs according to the rounds. Write down the points on a sheet.

Round 1

Each complete line (= no hole) is worth 1 point. The maximum is 10 points. Each hole left does not lose any point. It does not matter if there are one or more holes in the same line. But on the other hand, it does not produce any point.

Round 2

Again, each full line produces 1 point.

Special feature: The board has 9 boxes of symbols. Each of these boxes visible in a row counts as a box covered.

At the end of the round, 3 visible symbols of the same color indicate 3 bonus points.

In this version, the maximum possible points are 19: 10 points for complete lines + 9 bonus points for identical symbols. As in version 1, different holes of symbol boxes do not lose any point.

End of the game

The game ends after the second round. The points in rounds 1 and 2 are added together. The player with the highest total is the "Magni-fits"... until the next challenge...

Solo variant

Record the points obtained in rounds 1 and 2. Result?
