Setting Up
Shuffle all Merry Yard's cards and give two of them to each player. Each player holds his cards face down, so that the other players won't see them.
How to Play
You play in turn, clockwise. During your turn you can:
A- Play a card from your hand - Play a card from your hand – First of all you must imitate the sound of the animal that you want to play, then apply the effects of the animal and place it into your farmyard (the space in front of you on the table). If you forget to perform the sound or if you know that won't do it, the animal will be discarded and its effects will not be applied.
B- Draw a card - Draw a card and add it to your hand.
Once you decided which action you will perform, your turn is over and it's the next player's turn.
End of the Game
As soon as a player has 6 animals (the Poo is not an animal) in his farmyard, the game is over and it's time to score victory points. Add the values of all the cards in your farmyard: if you have the highest score, you are the winner!
Card Effects
Goat
The Goat has to be played into one of your neighbor's farmyard but, when it is played, it rams on another animal sending it into your farmyard: a keen way to steal a Pig or a Cow.
Mule
The mule in your farmyard cannot be moved by the Goat. Unfortunately, it's more stubborn than her!
Rabbit
When someone plays a rabbit, you can play a rabbit in your farmyard if you are handling it (even if it's not your turn). Don't forget to squeak as the Rabbit you're playing!
Rooster
If you possess a Hen in your farmyard and someone plays a Rooster, you can immediately play a Chick from your hand to your farmyard (even if it's not your turn). It counts also if you are the one playing the Rooster.
Parrot
When you're playing the Parrot in your farmyard, you can make the sound of one of your neighbor's animals, take it and put it into your farmyard. Two animals for the price of one!
No Effect Cards
Cow, Pig, Hen, Horse, Chick have no effects. Just perform the sound of the animal and play it in your farmyard.
Sheep
When you play a Sheep, pick a card.
Wolf
When you play a Wolf, you can take a Sheep from your neighbor's farmyard and place it in yours.
Cat
When you play a Cat, you can take one Cat from your neighbor's farmyard and place it in yours.
Dog
When you play a Dog, you must give your cat (or cats) to your neighbors (as you prefer). If you have the Dog in your farmyard, nobody can steal your Sheeps using a Wolf.
Poo
You have to play this card during another player's turn, when he plays one of the specified animals. Poo must be played always into the enemy's farmyard and it's worth -1! (Yes! You must perform poo's sound when you play it).
Neighbors
Who are the Neighbors? That's easy, they are the players sitting next to you at the table, on your sides.
