The rulebook rules out range through doors, but door adjacency for attacks rests on posts quoting the Rules Reference; players agree.

Yes — doors do not block adjacency, so an attack that targets an adjacent investigator or space works through a door. Range is not counted through doors, so an investigator who is only in range, not adjacent, behind a door is safe from range-based attacks.
