Aim of the Game
Manage your resources and optimise your moves to get the most victory points at the end of the match.
Set-Up
- Shuffle the cards and make a pile with the Orders face-down.
- Place in the centre of the table forming 4 columns: 4 Orders in a row and 4 Bubble Teas underneath.
- Place all the Pearls in the bag and put 2 at random between each Order and Bubble Tea.
Once this is done, everything is ready for you to start playing!
How to Play
The person who most recently had a Bubble Tea starts. If no-one has, then the youngest player starts. You will take it in turns until you reach the last stage of the game. Your turn consists of 3 stages:
- Choose a column and move it to your area (mandatory)
- Make a Bubble Tea (optional)
- Replace the missing column
1. Choose a Column and Move It to Your Area (Mandatory)
Choose one of the four columns and take the Order, the two Pearls and the Bubble Tea to your personal area, keeping it vertically in front of you.
2. Make a Bubble Tea (Optional)
Follow a Bubble Tea recipe (only one per turn). To do so, look at the card you want to do and discard the necessary materials from your area to a general discard area. Once the Bubble Tea is made, leave it horizontal to one side of your personal area.
Example of how to make a Bubble Tea: the rulebook illustrates a size S Bubble Tea card, the card and Pearls it requires, and the finished Bubble Tea turned horizontal.
Take care: When making a Bubble Tea, you can swap 2 for 1. Replace any 2 elements (Cards or Pearls) for another one you are missing, as many times as you like.
Example using 2 for 1: To make this Bubble Tea, discard one card, one green Pearl and, as you don't have a black Pearl, discard two Pearls of different colours to do a 2 for 1 exchange.
Take care: Before replacing an item, remember that you can't have more than 6 Pearls. If you have more, discard some of them until you are down to 6.
3. Replace the Missing Column
Replace the empty column by turning over the top Order on the pile and placing it as a Bubble Tea, place the next card from the pile as an Order and place 2 Pearls randomly from the bag.
If there are no Pearls left, put all the discarded Pearls in the bag.
If there are no Cards in the pile, shuffle the discarded cards and make a new pile.
Once your turn has finished, it's the turn of the person to your left.
End of the Game
If you want the game to be short, when the pile is finished, start the final stage of the game.
If you want the game to be a bit longer, the first time the pile runs out, make a second pile with the cards discarded so far. When the pile runs out a second time, the final stage of the game starts.
In both situations, finish the current round so all players have had the same number of turns and play one additional round (replace items as many times as necessary using the discarded Pearls and Cards) so there are always 4 columns to choose from.
Score
- Discard all unused Pearls and all unmade Bubble Teas from your area.
- Add up all the points of each Bubble Tea you have made.
- Add up the points of each Order card that you have kept.
Whoever has the most points, wins. In the event of a draw, whoever has the most XXL Bubble Teas, wins. In the event of a draw, whoever has the most M, then the most S, and if the draw persists, whoever has the most Pearls in their area, wins.
Remember that you can use the Bubble Teas you've created to get points in more than one objective, as long as it has been fulfilled.
Example of final score: Carolina has made three Bubble Teas (worth 4, 3 and 2 points) and the rulebook shows two objective cards (4x and 2x M) she has fulfilled.
- For the Bubble Teas she made, Carolina gets: 4 + 3 + 2 = 9 points.
- For the objectives, she gets:
- 4 (she has a set comprising one water Bubble Tea and one tea Bubble Tea).
- 2 + 2 (she has 2 size M Bubble Teas) = 4.
- Total: Carolina has a total of 9 + 4 + 4 = 17 points.
