Overview
In the game, you take the role of a photographer competing to win a commission from an advertising agency: get the highest score by taking the photograph, emulating Lunch atop a skyscraper.
Collect Worker tiles and place them, forming your scene, to score for the longest series of each of the 8 characteristics of the models.
Components
- 1 board
- 48 Worker tiles
- 7 Agency tiles
- 4 Trend tiles
- 16 Characteristic tokens
- 8 Style tokens
- 4 point tokens
- 4 markers
- 4 Photographer pawns
- 4 Cameras
- Score pad and pencil
- Rulebook (x3)
Setup
To set up a game, after placing the board in the centre of the playing table, follow these steps:
- Give each participant a Camera of their colour.
- Choose a Trend tile at random, on one of its sides, and place the 4 markers in the central part of the board in the positions indicated by the tile.
- In the reserved space, place 3 Characteristic tokens at random, face up. Leave the remaining tokens face down in a pile near the board.
- Shuffle the Worker tiles and form 12 piles of 4 tiles each: the top faces must show the workers standing (grey background). Place them next to the board in the marked spaces.
- At random, and on consecutive piles starting from any of them, place the participants' Photographer pawns.
- The rearmost Photographer pawn (in clockwise direction) indicates who starts the first turn.
Worker Tiles
The tiles represent workers posing in front of the photographers so that the latter choose them to appear in the photograph. They have the following characteristics:
A. The worker models vary according to four characteristics:
- They wear a cap or they do not.
- They wear a T-shirt or dungarees (overalls).
- They hold a lunchbox or a bottle in their hand.
- They wear brown boots or black shoes.
B. The two faces have different models:
- The front face shows the workers standing.
- The back face shows the workers seated on the beam.
- The two faces differ in only one of the four characteristics.
C. They have an icon:
- Padlock: indicates a characteristic that will not change between the two faces (front and back).
- Beam: indicates that you may perform an immediate action of increasing a value on the board for one characteristic of the models.
Whose Turn Is It?
In this game, the turn belongs to the player whose pawn is furthest back on the circuit around the board. Note that, after playing, the turn may fall again on the same player if they are again in the rearmost position.
A Turn
When it is your turn, follow these steps:
- Move your pawn around the board, clockwise, to a pile of Worker tiles of your choice where there is no other pawn.
- If in your movement you jump over 2 or more piles without a pawn, take a Characteristic token from the board or from the pile. If you take it from the board, fill the free space with a token from the pile, so that there are again 3 tokens face up. If a pile no longer has any Worker tiles, it does not count towards the number of piles jumped.
- Take the Worker tile from the pile where you placed your pawn. Turn it over and place it in front of you, forming a row, the Photograph row, with the other tiles you have taken in previous turns. If it is the first tile, it begins the row; if not, place it at one of the ends of the row, right or left.
- If you have taken a worker Characteristic token this turn (step 2), you may place it on a tile of your row that does not already have a token, to change one of its characteristics. If you prefer, you may keep it face down on your Camera, to score it at the end of the game (1 point), but you will not be able to place it afterwards.
- If you have taken a Worker tile with the Beam icon this turn: move one of the markers on the board one position, to the right or to the left. This will change the score of that characteristic at the end of the game.
- Check whether you have caused the end of the game: if you have already placed 11 Worker tiles in your row, the game ends immediately for all players. Otherwise, you have finished your turn.
Final Scoring
The final score of the game is recorded on the score pad. Look at your photograph and add these points:
-
For each of the 8 characteristics, multiply the value indicated by the board (1, 2 or 3) by the longest series of the characteristic you are evaluating.
In the example, the board values and the longest series give: 1x2 and 3x5 (cap), 1x2 and 1x4, 1x3 and 2x5, 1x2 and 2x5 (one product for each of the 8 characteristics, as shown in the illustration).
-
Add 1 point for each unused Characteristic token. (Example: 2 unused tokens = 2 points.)
In case of a tie, the photograph will remain of unknown authorship and you must share the victory!
Expansions
Own Style (Estilo Propio) and The Agency Rules! (¡La Agencia Manda!) are two expansions of the game that you can play separately or together to enjoy a more demanding experience. At the end of the game, write down the points in the sections corresponding to each expansion.
Own Style
At the start of the game:
- Each player takes a Style token without revealing its content to the other players.
At the end of the game:
- Show it and score 1 point for each time the style characteristic is represented in your final photograph, regardless of the final score of the characteristic.
The Agency Rules!
At the start of the game:
- Choose a colour of Agency tiles and deal one to each player. Place it face up, near your Camera, always keeping the same colour for all.
- Place on the board as many Point tokens as there are players in the game. Choose the tokens of highest value.
At the end of your turn:
- Check whether you have fulfilled the advertising agency's commission, that is, whether you have in your row the sequence of characteristics equal to that of your Agency tile. If you have achieved it, take the highest point token on the board (9, 7, 5 or 3 points) and keep it next to your photographic camera to score at the end.
At the end of the game:
- If you have obtained a point token, write its points on the score pad.
