Game Setup
- Take all 5 rainbow tiles and randomly give 1 to each player as their face-up starting tile, and place 1 on the center of the board. Return any unused rainbow tiles to the box. Shuffle the remaining tiles thoroughly and create several small face-up stacks, and place the tiles one by one onto the game board, filling it from the outer edges inward.
- Shuffle the magic cards and place them in a face-down deck within reach of all players. Reveal four cards face up (Starting cards).
- Use rock-paper-scissors to choose the starting player. Play proceeds clockwise.
Setup diagram (4-Player Game): Player 1 through Player 4 sit around the board. Each player has a Player Tiles area (always face up) beside them. The Magic Card Deck and the four face-up Magic Cards are placed beside the board.
How to Play
On your turn, choose one of the following actions:
1. Make the Stained Glass Resonate (Acquire Tiles)
Select a tile from your hand and place it on the edge of the board where you want to push from.
You can only push into rows where the first tile you touch matches the color or number with your tile. Push the row in a straight line. The tile at the opposite end is pushed out and added to your hand.
Example: the tile you place matches in color with the touching tile. The tile at the far end of the row is pushed out and taken into your hand.
Rainbow tiles can be used to push or be pushed by any color tile. However, rainbow tiles can only push tiles as the "starting tile" at the start of the game. Rainbow tiles collected during the game cannot be used to push tiles on the board.
Combo Push
If the tiles being pushed out are of the same number (e.g. 4 and 4) or consecutive numbers (e.g. 2-3-4-3), they can be pushed out and collected as a combo. You may collect multiple tiles at once if they meet either or both conditions (e.g. 2-3-3-2).
Example: the pushed-out tiles are 2-3-4-4 and all of them are collected.
Gaps
As the game progresses, gaps will appear in various places on the board. In some rows, there may be no tiles at the board's edge. However, you can still push in that row if the tile you use matches the same color or number of the first tile it touches. If there are gaps ahead, the tiles will slide and fill them in, and push until at least one tile is pushed out.
Example: Push, then Fill the Gaps, then Take it! The tiles slide to fill the gaps and the tiles pushed out are added to your hand.
2. Harnessing Hidden Magic (Acquire Cards)
If the collected tiles in your hand contain tiles that match a face-up magic card's pattern, you can claim that card by spending the matching tiles.
Spent tiles are set aside with the acquired card and cannot be used again.
You may claim multiple cards in a single turn if you have the necessary tiles. (4 cards at most in 1 turn.)
Rainbow tiles are wild and can match any color. After you Harness Hidden Magic, you may choose to take one tile from the outermost edge space of the board. This action is optional. At the start of the next player's turn, refill the Magic Cards from the deck to ensure there are always 4 cards face-up.
Passing and Running out of Tiles
You may only pass if there are no tiles of usable colors to push and no cards you can take. Except for the first turn, if your hand consists only of collected rainbow tiles, you become inactive for the rest of the game.
However, becoming inactive does not mean you automatically lose the game.
Types of Cards
The legend below lists the requirement for each card number, grouped as printed.
Any Color combination
- Card 1: Same number x3
- Card 6: Number 1 Tile x3
- Card 11: Consecutive numbers x3
- Card 12: Consecutive numbers x4
- Card 16: 2 tiles that add up to 10
- Card 17: 3 tiles that add up to 10
All tiles are in same color
- Cards 2-4: Same number x2
- Cards 7-9: Consecutive numbers x3
- Cards 13-15: Consecutive numbers x4
3 colors (no order restriction)
- Card 5: Same number x3
- Card 10: Consecutive numbers x3
- Card 18: 3 tiles that add up to 10
Editor's note: the printed legend for Card 18 reads "3 tiles that add up to 10", but the face of Card 18 shows the number 15 on its circle. The legend is transcribed as printed; the card face is not reconciled with it in the source.
End Game Conditions
The final round is triggered when any of the following occur:
- The last magic card is revealed.
- A player reaches x or more points. (x: For 4-players: 10 pts, 3-players: 12 pts, 2-players: 15 pts)
- All tiles of a single color are removed from the board.
- The number of tiles on the board remaining equals the number of players.
Once triggered, the game ends after the player last in the round completes their turn (i.e., the player just before the starting player).
Scoring
- Add up the points from your acquired magic cards.
- Subtract 1 point for each tile remaining unspent in your hand.
- The player with the highest total wins.
- In case of a tie, all tied players share the victory.
