Saxophone
Card text:
Use the effect on the silver side of one, two, or three assistants from the top of any stack on the reserve board.
Note on the card text: the printed Russian card text does not repeat the noun; "assistants" is taken from the notes below.
Notes:
- This card's effect is similar to the Coconut Flask's, but you may target one, two, or three top assistants on the reserve board.
- The Saxophone's effect counts as a main action, even if one or more of the effects of the chosen assistants are free actions.
- Do not turn the chosen assistants on the reserve board, because they are in a stack and not in a slot on your player board.
- If one or more of the chosen assistants give travel, you may use it only for a free action. Otherwise it is lost at the end of the turn.
- You may target with this effect only the top assistants on the reserve board, not the stack on the research track (if you are playing with the Lizard Temple side of the board).
- Some assistants let you buy a card from the trade row by spending fewer resources. When you buy an artifact, you may use its effect.
- The effects of some artifacts (for example, the Coconut Flask) let you acquire another artifact. You may also use that artifact's effect.
- The effects of artifacts you have just bought count as part of your main action for this turn.
- Remember that the trade row is refilled only after you have resolved the effects of all the artifacts you bought (that is, at the end of the turn).
Translation notes: "Lizard Temple" is the translation of the Russian "храм Ящера"; the English base rulebook calls the same research-track side the Snake Temple. "Travel" is the base game's term for the travel value ("транспорт" in the Russian text).
