Build
Aim of the game: Get your family of frogs across the pond and score the most points.
Setting up the game
Before you start playing, build the game using the LEGO® building instructions provided in the set. Building the game teaches you about the pieces and how you can use them. This makes it easier to rebuild the game or change the rules later on.
Build the LEGO Dice using the tiles shown below.
Each player chooses a family of frogs.
2 players: Choose families on opposite sides of the pond.
LEGO tool: The set includes a tool to help you take tiles off the LEGO Dice.
Component key on the page: Yellow home spaces, Stork, Frog, Pond, Bench, Rock, Shore, Space, Yellow start spaces, LEGO® Dice.
Play
Playing the game
The oldest player goes first. Play then continues clockwise.
On your turn, roll the LEGO® Dice and carry out the action you rolled.
Frog hop
Move one of your frogs a number of empty spaces up to the number shown on the LEGO Dice. You may move in any direction, including diagonally.
You may not move into or over a space occupied by a frog or the stork.
Leapfrog
Jump one of your frogs in any direction, including diagonally, OVER one neighbouring frog and into an empty space. You can then make MORE jumps with the same frog! Keep jumping until you cannot jump again or you choose to stop.
You may not jump over the stork.
If none of your frogs can jump, or you choose not to jump a frog, you may instead move one of your frogs one space.
Stork snack
Move the stork to any space on the board occupied by a frog that is not already home. The stork eats the frog! Remove the frog and place it beside the board. The stork then stays in the space until moved again.
You may not eat a frog that is already home.
Getting your frogs home
Your frogs are only home and safe from the stork when you move them all the way across the pond and onto your home shore, rocks and bench. Your home bench matches the colour of your frogs. Only frogs that are home will score points at the end of the game.
Winning the game
The game ends as soon as one player's frogs are all home or eaten by the stork.
Your frogs score points as follows:
- Each frog on your home bench scores 3 points.
- Each frog on your home rocks scores 2 points.
- Each frog on your home shore scores 1 point.
The player with the most points wins the game.
Illustration captions on the page: "3 points", "2 points", "1 point", and "The red frogs score 8 points".
LEGO tilt: The best way to pick up a LEGO piece is by tilting it before you lift it.
Change Your Game – Your Rules
LEGO® Games are made to be changed. You can rebuild the game or the LEGO Dice, change the pieces or even the rules! Every little change makes it more and more YOUR GAME.
The secret to changing a game is to only change one thing at a time. If you like the change keep it, if not try another. Get started by trying these suggestions, but remember to make sure everyone knows all the rules before you start playing.
Hop Share
Now when you roll 'Frog hop' you may share the moves between several frogs. For example, if you roll a three you could move one frog one space and another frog two spaces, or you could move three different frogs one space each.
Stork Escape
Now when you roll the LEGO Dice you may carry out the action as normal, or skip the action to bring back one of your frogs that the stork ate in an earlier turn. Place the frog on your starting bench.
Triple Trouble (for 3 players)
Rebuild the board following the additional building instructions. Now all the frog families start on the same side of the pond, and the home shore, rocks and bench are shared by all the players.
