Setup
Place a sheet of the Print and Play in the centre of the table. Get 6-sided dice and give one to everyone.
How Do You Play?
The goal of the game is to win as many points as possible together. A game is played over 6 rounds, and each round has 3 phases: the descent, the discussion and the reveal.
Each round, starting with the youngest, one participant (whom we will call "Charlie") is the reference person of the round.
The Descent
(During this phase nobody may speak. Speaking is cheating!)
Starting from the top of the mountain, Charlie must resolve 3 dilemmas before ending the descent in a chalet.
For each dilemma, Charlie must always choose the left or right path according to his or her preference or whichever suits him or her best. After the 3rd dilemma, Charlie secretly indicates, using his or her die, the chalet where he or she arrives.
Meanwhile, everyone else imagines Charlie's choices to try to find Charlie's arrival chalet, and secretly indicates its number with their die.
The Discussion
Once everyone has made their choice, everybody reveals their die and discusses to choose one common answer among the 6 chalets, except Charlie, who can neither reveal his or her die nor discuss.
In case of disagreement, the person to Charlie's left decides.
The Reveal
Charlie finally reveals his or her die and, all together, you win 1 point if Charlie's arrival chalet was found!
The person to Charlie's left becomes Charlie and begins his or her turn by placing a new sheet of the Print and Play.
Example of a Descent
- Dilemma 1: Being modest, Charlie prefers the igloo, and heads right.
- Dilemma 2: Charlie chooses to go right, because a million euros is not something to refuse!
- Dilemma 3: Finally, his or her generosity no longer needing to be proven, Charlie heads left.
- Arrival: Charlie is therefore waiting warmly in chalet no. 5 and hopes you will not take the wrong path. Now on to your lively discussions to determine... where is Charlie!
When Does the Game End?
After 6 descents, count the points won, and evaluate your score using the table below.
| Points | Score |
|---|---|
| 0-1 | Er... really? |
| 2-3 | Have you just met? |
| 4-5 | Not bad, but that's easy when you're friends. |
| 6 | You know each other too well, that hides something... |
