What are the Expert (optional) loan interest rules, and are they official?
Several posters quote the printed optional rules and agree the base game uses 1 Franc flat; the wordings differ by edition.

They are optional and are not in the main rulebook. Newer German editions say that with loans equal to or more than the number of players the interest is 2 Francs instead of 1; the English Expert sheet in some printings words it as 1 extra Franc each round for 2/3/4/5 or more loans in a 2/3/4/5-player game. Treat them as a variant, not errata.
