The rulebook says that when survivors ambush the monster, they may choose to go first in the showdown; replies describe this as the monster's turn coming first but being skipped. Do not follow the monster's own terrain setup; place terrain, monster and survivors as the players decide, still obeying the terrain cards' setup rules.
