When exactly does the monster controller's survivor gain +1 insanity?

When the controller resolves an AI card and their own survivor is selected from the Pick Target list, whether by choice or at random, that survivor gains 1 insanity; a card with several pick-target actions gives one per action. Whether a lone qualifying target counts is debated: the published FAQ says "from a Pick Target list", and some players read that as meaning a sole valid survivor was never picked from a list, so no insanity. Attacks from a reaction or basic action are not AI-card picks.
