Ground Fighting resolves first, when you activate the weapon, and then the mood is discarded as soon as the monster is wounded. While it is in play the monster does not draw AI cards, but you can still wound it: the wound moves an AI card to the wound stack as usual and Ground Fighting goes to the discard pile. A trap or reaction on your hit locations still applies.
